We made Kisumu Kenya our hub, while conducting a series of meetings and conferences in Western Kenya. We are very grateful that we found "The Vic" as our temp residence during our stay. The overall review is a great place with many stand-out people, locations, food, and room OUTSTANDING PEOPLE Firsts, starting from the hotel Mang. Mr. R. Mathias, is a great leader which is reflected in his staff and his attention to any issue we may have experienced. He was very proactive in our needs, not an easy thing to do for a hotel in Eastern Africa. Secondly, the young lady named Emily she is part of the housekeeping staff. She is a treasure with a great positive attitude, her attention to the smallest detail in the room was amazing. And if you wanted an additional towel or an extra coffee sachet with a smile she would get it. We had to ask her how long she has worked for the hotel , "over 5 years " I found that amazing that after so many years her disposition was so kind and willing to go the extra mile. Next, Grace from the breakfast hall, also another long time staff member. Every day, even if we were not at her station. She would make sure that we were being treated well. Always, smiling and willing to go the extra mile when we made a special request during breakfast. She is truly a good will Ambassador for the hotel, As we observed her serving others and she sincerely makes every one feel important. Next, Roger he serves at the hotel restaurant that is directly next to the hotel.(You will need to step outside the hotel to access the restaurant. You will walk less than 50 feet) We ate lunch or dinner there and Rodger is the best server in the staff there. He really knew how to anticipate what you needed before you asked for it. His knowledge not only of the items on the menu, but can give you the details on how it's prepared was impressive(especially when you have food allergies). LOCATION The Vic is located in a great part of Kisumu with a less than a 15 drive from airport Away from all the hassel and brussel of a busy city. But, not that far that from access to a neighboring mall known as "Mega City". You can walk there from hotel it is situated with the hotel's property. A 2 minute walk you are there, has 2 super market's, several pharmacies and medical clinic. We felt safe at all times. FOOD breakfast, lunch, dinner they are able to satisfy a variety of taste. And if you don't see it on the menu just ask, within reason they will try to accommodate. We tried several dishes at the restaurant and found it all good. My personal favorites, cheeseburger, chicken pizza, roasted chicken. ROOM When you are in their website and read the descriptions and see the pictures. You can rest assured that the descriptions and images are correct and currentl. In the time were the main heights for us was the bed was great and plenty of hot water with strong water pressure for shower. If you are planning a trip to Western Kenya and will be in the city of Kisumu for a day or more . Make a reservation or if you want to look for s good place to eat make your way there…
The hotel was very comfortable. Loved the air conditioning. The hotel also has a very nice restaurant. The staff are all very friendly and provide excellent service. For me the thing that takes the cake is the WiFi. Excellent WiFi in the rooms and even in the restaurant. For me good WiFi is really important so that makes this hotel really worth the stay.
The hotel is strategically situated with the mega city mall in Kisumu. This makes it very convenient to access the airport and Kisumu town. I had a one night stay in the Vic Hotel and the place was very quiet and serene. The room was clean, well lit and up to standard. However, the TV in my room was not functioning, the AC sound was too loud. The hotel spaces appeared too squeezed especially the restaurant space where we had our breakfast. To add on this, the breakfast menu had very limited options. They could do better. Finally, we got a good Kisumu based driver who helped us navigate through Kisumu and I highly recommend him. Mr. Nemwel Omwamba reach him on +254735364418.

I visited The Vic hotel over valentine weekend and had the most relaxing stay, I traveled with 2 children and the hotel management and staff made it feel like a breeze, the children enjoyed the swimming pool, staff ensured comfortable accommodation, extremely clean, basically everything you need in a hotel room, toiletries, blowdryer, fridge etc and the food was exquisite at the restaurant. I would definitely recommend to anyone, its also very close to the airport and the Mall right next to the hotel makes life easy in case you forget anything or would like to do a bit of shopping.
Centrally situated and located within Kisumu City. A few minutes walk from Kisumu Museum, nice accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool. Enjoy your stay in this Lake City with a home feeling away from home...The Vic will give you a memorable Travel/ safari experience, one like no other.
Mega Mall has everything you need to have a nice time there. Supermarket, club, restaurant, etc. It is in the middle of the city which means commuting to different places very easy and convenient. It is also close to the airport.

A really good hotel on the outskirts of Kisumu. The staff are very professional, and I was really pleased with the receptionist. Being a regular they accorded me a free upgrade as well. The rooms are very clean with Wifi available through out the hotel.
I had the pleasure of spending one night at the Vic Hotel in kisumu city over the weekend and was very happy with the staff. The rooms were very clean with all the amenities that I required. we were a big group of about 25 and had a party there. The food was sumptuous and the waiters were very helpful. I would like to Mention Moses and Patel for making sure everything was going great from the moment checked in until we left. There is also a swimming pool and a gym but I did not have the time to use them. I will have to come back again when I have more time. Asante sana for the good hospitality!
