+++ Gute Erfahrungen - Nice experiences +++ Bewertung zu Lago Resort Bewertet vor 2 Tagen Mit Google übersetzen The owners of this ressort are very committed. One of the sons was on a student exchange at Saarbrücken University (Germany). All members of the family are interested in both the fauna and flora of their homeland, Kenya. The guest house is located in a botanical garden, which Daniel, the family man, takes care of in particular. However, Daniel has not only very extensive botanical knowledge, but also detailed knowledge of the history of missionary work in East Africa by German missionaries (e.g. Dr. Johannes Krapf and Johannes Rebmann, both from Tübingen). As a result, a stay at the “Lago Ressort” is enriching in many ways. By the way: Daniel chose the name "Lago" because he worked as an engineer with Italian companies in water engineering - and from the "Lago Ressort" you have a very nice view of Lake Victoria from above - surrounded by fresh winds, beautiful plants, a number of cats and many different chickens. We were shown different rooms and found all of them clean, all bathrooms with hot water showers, all rooms with balconies. From our spacious room we had a wonderful view of Lake Victoria and the botanical garden. There are several metal tables and chairs painted green in the garden. There is hardly any plastic to be found in the whole “Lago Ressort”. Instead, a lot of local wood, often e.g. rosewood, especially in the large, light-flooded and airy hall, which is located in the lower third of the ressort. Below this building, where breakfast and other meals, fruits, tea and cold drinks are served, there are sanitary rooms and the laundry room. The owners are also operators of two farms in which, for example, no artificial fertilizers are used (organic farming). One of them is near the last Kenyan protected rainforest. If you want, one of the members of the family can take you on a trip to one of the farms, the rainforest, tea plantations and waterfalls in the area. Excursions to various parts of Victoria Lake are also offered. Excursions are even possible to the large "Owen Waterfalls" of Lake Victoria, but these must be combined with an overnight stay and requires a day visa for Uganda. The "Owen Waterfalls" (near Jinja) were the source of energy for all of East Africa. Today they supply Uganda with inexpensive electricity. In the "Lago Ressort" you can get meals on request - according to your own ideas. Conclusion: More service is (almost) impossible. Highly recommended! - joesti -
