Hotel rooms are dated but perfectly adequate. We stayed in rooms across the road which I believe are newer and have modern aircon. The staff are fabulous, without exception, and cannot do enough for you. The standard of cooking and quality of food is outstanding although desserts are a little simple. Small criticisms: sunbeds are heavy and have to be...

I've just got back from the RR and must say I had the most amazing time there. As a lot of reviews have mentioned the apartments do need a bit of updating but are clean and comfortable and Peter who cleaned our room (C17) did a great job. The restaurants and bars in the complex where all very nice and...

We had a great 2 week holiday as the staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is very remote and you need a taxi to get to the supermarket as the on-site shop is pathetic. DON'T book safairs with the hotel - they are too expensive. Just 50yards away from the hotel is Kikambala Tours run from a shack...

Peace, friendliness & the best service epitomises Royal Reserve Safari & Beach Club. Simon is most helpful for excursions and on the beach in front of the resort you will find anong others (but the best ones) Moses & Victor who are the nicest guys & will arrange local excursions at greatly discounted prices. Go for a walk with them...

The resort is adequate for your need and clean enough but in need of updating. Most of the staff were wonderful in particualr Moses & Ronal who look after the swimming pool. The trips organised by Simon are grossly overpriced and you can get the exact same trips at a fraction of the cost by wandersing out of the hotel...

Stayed at the Royal Reserve for two weeks. The apartments are large with everything needed to self cater. They are clean and the cleaners leave flowers and messages on your bed. They are not European 4* but are perfectly adequate. The two restaurants serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are special nights eg fish. Also al-a-carte menu. The staff are wonderful...

We went for two weeks with Club la Costa and generally found it similar to the other resort we went to in a developing country (Goa). The decor and general state of fittings needs updating. The apartments are spacious and have some reasonable furniture with plenty of storage space. It consists of a small number of apartment blocks surrounding a...

After a week of driving and do-it-yourself safariing across Kenya, we were excited to finally arrive at the Royal Reserve Safari and Beach Club for the last week of our delayed honeymoon. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by enthusiastic staff and and cocktails. We were very happy with the room we were given as it was extremely...

we spent a week at the Royal Reserve to start off our two-week holiday to Kenya in celebration of a special wedding anniversary ....the apartment was clean but the decor dated and overall quite shabby. To celebrate our special wedding anniversary we were treated to twin beds of differing heights pushed together ...? The kitchen was poorly fitted out for...
