Stayed here at the end of the trip (2 nights) and then an extra night before coming home - the hotel is outside of town which makes it a bit more peaceful, but tuk tuks are available at a negotiated prices and can take 2 o 3 people and local buses (minivans can be used 2 or 3 birrs) The...

Stayed here for three nights and enjoyed my stay. The rooms are pretty good and the bathroom acceptable with nice shower and toilet that works. The level of service is excellent and the food in the restaurant very good. It's a bit of a way outside the centre but the tuk tuks are cheap and easy to get into town.

So we were on a NGO project based at Gonder. The staff at the Lammergeyer couldn't have been more friendly. The food was great, especially breakfast porridge, as were the cold Dashen beers. It's Ethiopia, so don't expect Savoy standards but good nonetheless. Recommended!

This wasn't our first choice, but the other places we wanted to stay in Gonder were booked. The hotel was OK, relatively clean, not fancy at all, but after some machinations and calling the guy for help a few times, we were able to get hot water for the shower and it was all fine. Not a place I'd want...

Not sure what else I can add to the title! Clearly we were not happy with this choice of lodging! The small, dingy room was bad enough, but the shower was actually worse: not much water, barely warm rather than actually hot. I would NOT stay here again!

I can happily recommend this one, and will stay here next time I come. Hotel service was fast and cheerful. Both rooms I stayed in were clean, well-maintained and had 24/7 hot water. I really appreciated the locking closet after the incident at another hotel. The first room I had faced the busy road outside, but they happily changed me...

I stayed at the Lammergeyer Hotel along with my research team on a 6-week project. The environment is rustic but relaxed and comfortable. The managerial and service staff are friendly, extremely helpful, and a pleasure to be around. I enjoyed the affordability, the tasty food, the relaxed atmosphere, and reliable WiFi tremendously. My project is five-years long and I will...

Our Gondar-based guide recommended the restaurant of this hotel as better and more affordable than Four Sisters, where we'd eaten the night before. We sat out in the garden with a candle — a private spot from which we could see other diners on the other side of hedges/trees as we all listened to music, but we still felt we were...

We were 3 couples who had a 5 day tour in Ethiopia. We spent one night in Gonder and stayed by Lammergeyer Hotel. The hotel and restaurant staff at this hotel gave us excellent service and served us a really good lunch and breakfast. The local injera dish we had as starter was quite nice and tasty. Actually we judged...

Basic, small, clean rooms (with the ubiquitous TV that doesn't work, common in Ethiopia) that do the job for a short stay. The patio area is nice and seems to attract the locals for meals and the free WiFi (which is lightening-quick by Ethiopian standards). The property is bit of a hike from the city center, fine during the day,...
