Friendly staff. Clean and tidy room. Relaxing atmosphere throughout the lodge. Hippo sounds at night . I highly recommend this lodge. Lots of activities ( game drives, boat cruises, and the highlight was the houseboat sunset cruise).

Best place and location in Maun. The sunsets are amazing!! We just want to thank the hosts, Cornel and Leana, who made out stay very special, comfortable and pleasant. The first night we stayed on the houseboat, waking up in the morning and hearing the Hippos nearby and the Fish Eagles was truly amazing. The boattrips was the highlight of...

Thamalakane River Lodge is beautifully situated about fifteen minutes out of Maun on the banks of the river. The rooms are all well positioned with great views of the river and in superb grounds. The Babbler Chalets are positioned at the front and are very well equipped with all you would expect from a five star establishment, great bathrooms and...

The location of the Lodge is beautiful – on the banks of the Thamalakane River. We were at the restaurant in time for the sunset and it was gorgeous – well worth the trip and dinner. We did not see any hippos but could hear the occasional grunts as we enjoyed our pre-dinner cocktails overlooking the river. We moved on...

We have been to Botswana four times and the Thamalakane Lodge is the best we have stayed in. It's away from Maun about 6 miles and has a beautiful setting on the river. We stayed in the Fisheagle chalet which was very nice and had it's own small plunge pool. Great for cooling off on a hot day. We were...

This is my favorite lodge in Botswana, and I stayed in several in my jaunt across the country. It's not just the amenities, which were good (and improving, there was a lot of upgrading going on), but it was the care with which the staff and owners take in every detail. Everything, from the linens to the landscaping, have a...
