Dropped in for lunch after a morning 4WD Trek in the nearby Tallaganda National Park. Enjoyed a hamburger with the lot and my wife had a steak sandwich with the lot. Both were excellent and the beer was at a perfect temperature. Reeks of history and it was a great Aussie experience. Highly recommended!

Our group of 16 visited Captains Flat hotel this weekend and throughly enjoyed our stay and the great adventure riding in the area. It was the coldest weekend of the year and the wood heating and particularly the well heated dining area took the chill off after our outdoor activities. The up stairs accomodation is of a good standard for...

Fantastic pun in a great little town!. Thank you for your review of our iconic Captains Flat Hotel. The town's people are true gems and are always up for a chat with visitors. Pool comp Tuesdays is definitely a blast, better to get here early as we have max'd out numbers the last few weeks. Thanks again, hope to see...

We left Captains Flat as we found it - dead! Nothing to look at. No where to ask questions. Took ages to get there for - nothing. Why the information bureau at Queanbeyan sent us there (by pamphlet - it was closed when we attended) we'll never know. Do yourself a favour, don't think about going there.

Thank you for the time to write a review of our charming town, Captains Flat. The hotel is always open at 11am, maybe the doors where closed to keep the open fire warmth in, as you are aware we have had some cool winter days. Its unfortunate you did not enjoy the scenic drive through rolling hills and rural farms....

It was winter and there was no room heater. Captains flat is very cold during winter and imagine your night without a heater, hot water, broken shower, kitchen. Toilet does not flush. And its dirty. Food is hard to find as no shops around. You may have to fast if you fail to arrive early or bring food along. Expensive...

We had a group of 8 (4 couples) and originally booked this weekend with Tony & Vicki in Feb this year but it changed hands about 3 months before our stay. Michael & Jackie who are the new owners brother & sister in law now run the hotel with Garry the owner coming in from Friday to Sunday. We paid...

I thank TripAdvisor for listing this hotel following my request in June 2012. Having had an opportunity of being shown around this establishment by its new owners Vicky and Tony Holland in April 2012, I decided to find out specifically how it would be like to stay there for a night. Hence, my wife and I booked in for the...
