First off, we love the Hluhluwe Imfolozi park and have visited a number of times over the past 15/20 years. The Hilltop camp is located in a really stunning location with wonderful views of the valleys below. In its heyday this was truly the jewel...More
This lodging is located in the park itself, so the ambiance is as close to nature as you could wish. The accommodation was a little "Rustic" and some times we felt that there were more creatures in the chalet than just us humans. Never the...More
This is a well run camp with very good accommodation and is a perfect place from which to start your game viewing. Staff are very helpful and organised and the breakfasts are as good as you can get anywhere.

I have not stayed at Mtwazi since renovations. If you want a lovely private bush experience I would try Muntulu bush camp or Munyaweni bush camp. It is near Hilltop camp but if you have a group it is really nice with water frontage and no fences so you really are in nature.
You also pay a flat rate which may work out cheaper than Mtwazi but you will have to cook your own meals instead of eating at Hilltop.
Hope this helps.
