Yes, it does not look new, yes the mattresses are thin, but it is clean. Obelix Village offers a welcome alternative to camping, given the unpredictable and often windy weather of Lüderitz. Especially the family rooms are good value for money. Communication with the staff at the reception takes a bit of patience. The highlight though was the breakfast, the...

Apparently once a nice place it is now run down and dirty. It's location is convenient and the staff make an effort to put on a decent breakfast but that is all it has going for it. Floors were sticky, bedding didn't look clean and inside parking was very limited (behind the very noisy electric gate). There are better options...

We stayed one night before a trip into the dunes. Our room was clean but very basic - narrow beds, thin mattresses, hard pillows and a minute bathroom. The quaint pub appeared to have been decommissioned as all the fridges were empty and no drinks were available. For breakfast, the portions were generous but was reminiscent of boarding school cuisine!...

Basic accommodation, do not expect five star luxury. Obelix rooms are basic, but run down. Thin pillows and uncomfortable mattresses, with a shower and WC, also not working as it should. If this is the last available space in Luderitz, try your luck....

We returned to Obelix Village Guesthouse again in June this year. The hospitality was as always very warm and friendly, with "comrade" Johannes taking the lead, especially during breakfast. If you need any special favours e.g. car wash, information, etc. Johannes is your man! The accommodation is clean, basic with on suite shower - with all rooms opening on an...

I had been referred to Obelix by a shop owner in Helmeringshauzen. It was late and I needed accommodation for the family and I still had two hours before getting to Luderitz so I made the call and was told that there were "two double rooms". When we arrived two hours later we were given the keys. The wind had...

When we visit the Namib Desert this is the only place we stay at. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly and the rates are reasonable. It has ample off-street parking and owner serves excellent dinners and breakfasts.

We stayed at Obelix Village Guest House for a couple of days over Easter this year and had a good experience all round. It is really good value for money and even though the B&B is just as you enter Luederitz (further away from the local attractions), you do not really need to be in town, as it is fairly...
