Had lunch here and then went to see the croc farm and zoo and lemur island. Lunch was very good and reasonable cost. Service was excellent and facilities were very clean. Lemur island was the absolute trip highlight.

Hello - We will be staying at Vakona Forest Lodge for 5 nights from 19 July. We have excursions booked every day - they include 2 night walks visit to the private reserve, ilot lemurien, matadia and Analamazaotra. Is it possible to interact (touch) the lemurs, chameleons etc., and are we likely to see Aye Ayes or Fossas ? What clothing do you recommend for the excursions - is it necessary to wear long trousers and long sleeves ? My husband is a very keen fisherman - is any fishing allowed ? Thank you in advance for your reply

You will love it. The lodge is wonderful. On the island the lemurs will jump on you for food. Yes, long pants and long sleeves. I dont know about fishing but i bet it would be good!

We are planning a trip to Madagascar in September. We read about the cyclone Enawo and were wondering whether it impacted the roads from Tana to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Did you travel in that area after the cyclone? How were the roads? How long did it take to drive from Tana to Andasibe (we've been told 3 hours and we've been told 6 hours which is a bit of a difference)? Thank you.

We booked directly at Vakona Lodge and payed (converted) 75 € for one cabin. Each cabin can host 2 people. Breakfast has been 4 € per person. We've been there at the beginning of December 2016.
