We didn't think our first camp, Savute Safari Lodge, could be matched but Moremi was up to the task. It provided a totally different ambience and experience. What wasn't different was an incredible staff and food guaranteed to expand your waistline. Moremi is a beautiful camp in a gorgeous delta setting. Our guide, Aaron, was amazing and well attuned to providing our photographers the best possible shot. We saw wild dogs hunting followed by two different leopard encounters. One with a Mom and her male cub in a tree with an Impala carcass she'd brought up. The next morning we saw a different Mom with her cub playing. The cub was using Mom as stalking target practice (amazing). We saw a huge herd of matrilineal elephants. We surprised a juvenile (who trumpeted his displeasure). The cows quickly satisfied themselves we were no threat but a tiny calve kept bellowing at us after having seen his older relative do it. On our water safari, a huge bull elephant crossed the channel right in front of our boat, using his trunk as a snorkel in the deepest section (great pics from that). There was a lot of action on the property itself with appearances by Oscar (a local hippo), wart hogs, Cape Buffalo and a leopard. The staff are rightly proud of their nightly musical performances which added to the experience. On our last night, it was our friends birthday and the staff arranged for a private dining experience by the pool which was wonderful. I think it may have been the best birthday party ever and the staffed performed for that as well. Brought tears to the eyes. The rooms themselves were lovely and well situated on the property. We experienced colder than normal temperatures, even for a Botswana winter but the staff took care of that by providing hot water bottles (aka bush babies)) for both our beds and game drives. We loved this area and this property. Well done Moremi.…
We had 3 wonderful nights at Camp Moremi. The camp was busy, friendly and well run. Our room was beautiful - with great attention to detail - loved the animal towel arrangements! However I think the central areas of this camp are what worked really well - the central bar, pool area, evening campfire and great chats from the guides - this meant the guests mixed in and socialised. The game drives in Moremi were fabulous - the scenery on its own was amazing .. beautiful lakes and grassland - each drive was different. We did see leopard and lion - which were the big 'wow' moments - however we also enjoyed the quieter times as the light and views were spectacular ...The evening boat trip was lovely and relaxing with an amazing 'sundowner' spot. Overall - a well run camp with very friendly and fun staff in a stunning location. Oh final point - we really appreciated that they fitting in a final game drive, beautiful coffee spot just before we were taken to the local airport. (Note: Elephants were cleared off the runway!)…
Our guide Qwist was outstanding. He had a wealth of knowledge of the area, animals and his country history and current events. We saw many animals and groups of animals up close that made the experience exciting and still safe. The sunsets were beautiful. The boat trip was another unique way of showing us the Delta. The rooms had all the amenities that were needed for our comfort. The food was very good and the staff were accommodating and very friendly. They had fireside stories of how they live and some of their traditions which was a nice treat.
Our family of 3 just returned from an African adventure. Camp Moremi was our first stop and set the bar really high. The staff is warm and friendly, greeting us each time we returned to camp. They also provided some singing and dancing each night before dinner, announcing the menu and wines. Ashleigh the bartender was so much fun. The food was phenomenal. Our guide, BaBa was really good at finding the animals including a leopard. He had a wonderful sense of humor and really knew alot about everything we were seeing. Our accomodation, the family tent, was so beautiful, especially the double headed showers on either side with a full length screen to the outside. We loved turning in each night to all the sounds around us. When we left after 3 nights, our son said it would be hard to top our stay here. A beautiful place with lots of animals. Thanks for the memories and taking such good care of us! Kent, Susan and Matt…
My son and I stayed at Camp Moremi for 3 nights at the end of April 2022. While the location is remote, the warmth and friendliness of the entire staff made us feel at home. Located in the midst of a delta, the wildlife viewing was outstanding and the quality of the guides, unparalleled. Our guide, Aaron, was so in touch with the surrounding natural world that he made finding and identifying the wildlife, including the birds seem effortless. The camp itself is beautifully appointed with each room opening to expansive views of the surrounding wonderland. As a result of a highly professional management & hospitality staff, It is run with a keen eye to guest comfort. While each staff member we encountered deserves recognition, I will single out Aaron our guide, and Ashley the bar manager as we spent quality time with each. Ashley's descriptions of the wines being served, their characteristics and pairings was remarkable.…
Our first stop in the Delta and Camp Moremi was a fantastic choice. Beautiful luxury accommodation awaited us a shortish walk along the boardwalk accompanied by the guides (although we felt really safe, we do appreciate that all wildlife enters the camp at any time and were lucky enough to have buffalo, impala and warthog visiting us. Rooms have absolutely everything you need and was very spacious and comfortable. The laundry service is top notch so don't overpack like I did! Double showers have views of the bush. Bliss! Welcome songs sung every night and food was of high quality. Pool area had wonderful views into the bush albeit a little small deck area and seating for number of guests that would normally be there in high season. It was full every time I was there. Staff very friendly, happy and helpful and our guide Aaron was superb and very knowledgeable. Afternoon on the lagoon was sublime, bird life exquisite and sunsets the best you will find. Our morning game drives produced lion, leopard , elephant , giraffe, impala and kudu and the Delta views were amazing. Moremi is an unforgettable and very special experience. ❤ My only 1 suggestion is to please offer bottled water on the game drives. Thank you. …
Beautiful lodges, spotlessly clean. Really friendly staff who really want you to enjoy yourself. The game drives were excellent. We had the opportunity to see a leopard and her cub on our first drive. A lovely start to our three lodges from Best of Desert & Delta . Some lodges are some distance from the main area so ask for one close if you do not want to walk
We spent 4 nights here a few weeks ago (Jan 2022) and it was beyond fabulous. The staff was amazing, the facilities exceptional, and the surrounding preserve and wildlife out of this world. We saw just about every bird and animal possible. We had hippos, kudu, vervet monkeys, and cape buffalo right in the camp (some sleeping right outside our rooms). We traveled with our college-age son, so we had the one family tent/cabin. It had two large bedrooms and two separate baths; beautiful rooms. The staff waited on us hand and foot, and our guide knew every living creature we came across. And we came across, and got very close to, many, many creatures. I honestly can't think of anything missing here, and it's hard for me to imagine anyone staying here and not having a great time.
After spending time in Savute Safari Lodge, we continued our trip to Camp Moremi. We hoped for more beautiful days yet we did not know that our trip would even get better. Our guide Gee was amazing! We did not want to leave. He was incredible at locating wildlife we hoped to see during our visit. I got photographs I dreamed of capturing. We were lucky to spend moments with leopards (my favorite), lions, wild dogs (rare to see), giraffes, zebras, elephants, and others. I am still going through photos. We enjoyed our talks about the animals, about life in Botswana, etc. Truly wonderful memories. Beside the game viewing, we enjoyed the great camp hospitality as well. Desert and Delta created a wonderful family in this camp. They are all so welcoming. Loved sharing smiles and laughs with many of them. In a time of Covid-19, it was nice to have the protocols. We also got to feel like we were living life again. Sending my compliments to the chefs, servers, managers, housekeepers, guides, etc. The evening songs we great. Ashley's wonderful wine descriptions were awesome with the great food. I highly recommend this camp. It will not disappoint.…
We arrived at the camp in the late morning greeted with a refreshing drink, a warm welcome from the camp staff. We were hungry so they prepared and served us food. We eat, settled into our hut, relaxed, and shortly thereafter got into a vehicle to explore Moremi. The room (#5) is excellent! Clean, open, comfortable, bedding is excellent. The shower and bathroom facilities are top notch and comfortable. The openness of the room brings the outside in to the room and the fan and mosquito netting kept the bugs out. We appreciate the work and time necessary to create the daily notes and towel sculptures. The food and drink are excellent. It is really amazing how a location far from civilization provides this high level of accommodations, food, and drink. The first day we received a personal tour because we just happen to be alone in the vehicle; subsequent days there were a total of six. Baba, our guide, is knowledgeable, smart, personable with a good sense of humor and voice. The animals here seem to ignore the Safari vehicle. They are comfortable with the vehicles; therefore, the vehicles get up close; it's almost uncomfortably close. We get up close and personal with a couple of lions and they were not phased by us or the vehicle. The vehicle paths are sandy, bumpy, and slow ~12mph (plenty of time to scan the area for activity); the vehicles are comfortable for the lengthy drives. Our typical Daily Routine: Up at 5:30 Breakfast at 6:00 Leave for nature/game drive at ~6:30 Break for coffee/tea and treats Back for brunch ~12:30 depending on what happens during the morning drive Siesta 12:30 - 3:30 Tea and snack at 3:30 Afternoon drive at ~4:00 start (break for sun downer cocktails and sunset) Back for dinner at ~7:00 Dinner 8:00 Electric Generation is off from 10:30pm - 4:30am (battery powered bed lamps and bathroom light remain with power The swimming pool is an excellent location to cool off during the siesta. Have a cocktail and/or just sit with you feet in the water and chat with the other guests. After Dinner, you are escorted to your room/cabin and, for your safely, no allowed to leave until the morning. Frankly, we were exhausted and glad to stay put. (Sung with drums) Farewell to you, Farewell to you, until we meet again Our hearts are full of sorrow, go in peace … Our hearts are full of sorrow G-d be with you until we meet again next time G-d be with you until we meet again next time Farewell to you, Farewell to you, until we meet again Farewell to you, Farewell to you, until we meet again Stay at Camp Moremi!…
