Hostal Akapu was a real pain to find, but so worth it once we finally did! It's almost directly inland from the third and final ahu/muai north of town along the sea (Called Ahu Akapu). The only road there winds up the hill and then down past the museum because of the muai. We paid $80 per night for three...

We stayed in this hotel for one week. The hotel is a bit far from the city centre, so I would recommend somewhere nearer Akapu. The hotel is near some places with beautiful moai statues, though, so not so bad. Great breakfast and staff, wifi extremely slow.

Review with photos: http://shrimp2.pixnet.net/blog/post/105729377 I stayed here for five nights before heading back Lima. Hostal Akapu was the cheapest option from several websites. In general, I really enjoyed the lovely time in Hostal Akapu. However, I still would like to share pros and cons in my opnion. Pros 1. The bungalow with private bathroom was clean 2. You could use...

It was lovely to be met at the airport with a garland of flowers. Akapu is on the edge of town overlooking the sea and right by the museum. The accommodation is clean but spartan self contained bungalows with a communal kitchen / dining room with seating area with WiFi. The owners offer their spare 4WD to rent for a...

Based on reviews we read and Akapu's website, we were expecting a fairly decent room -- nothing fancy but not bottom-level. we stayed for a week and loved Rapa Nui, despite the Akapu experience. PRO: Location was fine although admittedly it was a 15-minute walk from town. (Bring a headlamp or flashlight if you're planning to walk back at night....

The world fades away when you're in Rapa Nui. As others have noted, Akapu is very close to the coast, a 15 or 20-minute walk from Hanga Roa though some people took taxis or rented bicycles. It's surrounded by trees, and you'll quickly get to know the friendly family that owns it as well as the other guests. To me,...

Located Minutes outside of Rapa Nui’s not sooo vibrating Capital Hanga Roa, Akapu offers analogous standards of most other Cabanas we’ve seen on Isla de Pascua. Very basic, but generally cosy this accommodation reflects the local image. Try to get first cabana in row as there is a second window, more space and a small terrace. Bathroom was neither fully...

We stayed at the Hostal Cabanas Akapu for 3 nights in January and had a great time - it was a good choice and we were happy with the value we received. Pros: We could see a moai, the ocean and gorgeous sunsets from our cabana (#1). The grounds and cabin are surrounded with fruit trees and flowering bushes (hibiscus,...

We could see a moia and beautiful sunsets from cabana #2 -- what else do you need? Pick this place for a relaxing stay, away from the city. It'll leave you with a bit of a walk to the center of Hanga Roa, but it's a beautiful journey past several moia and it's likely you'll be guided by one or...

We had a great time on Easter Island. We were happy to be there during Tapati 2008. And the hospitality and wonderful accomodation we experienced at Hostal Akapu made it a perfect trip. The owner L. Barrera is a wonderful host and will do anything to make the best of your trip for you. Vincent from Holland
