Located only a few minutes' walk from the Vakil Bazaar and Citadel which together comprise the city's cultural heart, the Darb-e Shazdeh hotel is a charming idyll in this lively and bustling city. On our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the wonderful staff and shown to our room looking into the courtyard garden (The building is a carefully restored traditional Iranian house where all rooms look into this central courtyard). The breakfast included daily was a delightful range of traditional Iranian food, and it was so good that we ended up having lunch and dinner at the hotel on some days (I have reviewed the hotel café restaurant separately). As a boutique hotel with only 8 or so rooms, you will not find the amenities which can be found in larger establishments, but the fantastic location, unparalleled hospitality and the beauty of the garden will more than make up for it!

I was lucky to be able to travel to Iran and to Shiraz right before the COVID-19 restrictions broke out internationally and even then, Darbe Shazdeh amazed me in the precautionary steps they took in room and hotel sanitation. I was very pleased with the general service quality and staff cooperation which impressed me a lot because I tend to give a lot of attention to the human aspects of a place I’m visiting and the employees at this hotel certainly didn’t disappoint.
My favourite part has to be the food, though! All the meals at this hotel were true to Iranian rich culinary culture (I should know as an Iranian!) enjoying high qualities and varieties.
All in all, it was a memorable experience and I am certainly glad I had the chance to stay for a few nights at Darbe Shazdeh. I would recommend considering it to anyone who is planning to visit Shiraz in the (hopefully near) future.

I must start by saying that our trip to Shiraz was supposed to be 2 nights only, however as soon as we got there we ended up extending for 4 nights. We fell in love with Darbeshazdeh immediately, the ambiance, that homey feeling it gives you, the friendly staff and the overall service and cleanliness of the hotel blew our mind, especially because we were a bit concern about traveling during Covid 19. We booked the "Owrsi" suit upstairs with 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed in it and the other with 2 single beds. Everything about the room was perfect, especially the design and the details that had worked in it. We had a beautiful balcony all exclusive to ourselves where we would spend most of our time there. I have to say the food here was DELICIOUS and the buffet style breakfast was filled with everything you can possibly think of. I highly suggest you eat every meal here cause we ate outside the hotel twice and came back disappointed. I will DEFINITELY stay here again when I visit Shiraz and I highly recommend it to everyone else. Oh I almost forgot to mention tha there was an outdoor movies next door to us where we would watch movies/soccer match every night. They had comfy coaches and bean bags and would serve u food, snacks and drinks;)

The boutique hotel feels more like you’re staying in someone’s house rather than a hotel. It’s charming and decorated nicely. The breakfast was plenty and the meals were very tasty. The staff were accommodating. We had a descent stay.
However, these are the issues that need to be improved: 1) The rooms and bathrooms were not cleaned properly. When I came back in the afternoon I could see toothpaste splash on the mirror and dust under the beds / floor. 2) During our first night the smoke detector went off at 3 AM and there was no one there to fix it! We had to do it ourselves. Not acceptable! 3) The price for the hotel is too high for what it is. If you’re charging top rate you need to be top rate all the way.

This is a little peace of heaven tucked away in the back streets of old shiraz. There are only 6 or 7 rooms I believe , each lovely and unique in their own way. The attention to detail is second to none and the service is unlike anything you will experience in iran. Ms Askari the owner has built this place with love and it shows from her passion and culture she has created here. The food is amazing as well. With the exception of the restaurant haftkhan, I would suggest you have every other meal here . Their rooms include a delish bfast which includes fresh waffles , a different kind of omlette daily and fresh juices. We stayed in the suite with a private balcony 2 nights (I believe it was orza, or something like that) and haftdar( translated to 7 door) each had its own little things that stole our hearts.
Do not think twice about staying here, just do it. It is a title pricey but worth every penny. Stay one less night overall if it out of your budget , you won't regret it!!!

My stay at Darbe Shazdeh Boutique Hotel was an exceptional introduction to the beautiful Iranian culture and traditions. As you enter, you are greeted by the colours of the Persian carpets and artistic touches of the incredible owner Ms Askari who renovated this traditional house. Our rooms were extremely clean and the staff were attentive, professional & friendly who went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. A true example of excellent hospitality!
The food was delicious!! They offer a wide variety of traditional Iranian dishes throughout the day. The hotel was located perfectly and super close to several major attractions. If you ever get the chance to visit Shiraz, I would highly recommend this charming boutique hotel. I would definitely be back to enjoy more freshly brewed coffee whilst I watch the sunset in the elegantly arranged garden.

From the moment I entered the hotel, I was attracted by the pleasant atmosphere of the hotel. The welcome drink that was brought to us tasted good and the respectable staff handled the process of serving us quickly. Having travelled around Iran in the past two weeks this is the cleanest and well kept boutique property we ve stayed in, and we ve stayed in some 4 and 5* places. The bathroom and bedrooms are very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The courtyard is very attractive and well kept and the manager is always around to help. Breakfast is limited but available. Lunch and dinner is available at request. This must be one of the best boutique hotels in the country.

That was one of the best hotel I’ve stayed. The rooms were really awesome. We stayed in tow kinds of room. The mirror room was exactly fantastic and we felt incredibly happy and relaxed. That was the cleanest hotel and room we’ve ever experienced.The atmosphere of hotel was great and pleasant. The staffs were super kind and they treated extremely politely.Quality of food , drinks,coffees and brews were the best.And it is located in downtown of Shiraz.The Open air cinema in hotel was designed perfectly and we’ve had great experience there.In the other hand the owner and manager of hotel Mrs.Asgari was the most friendly person and we have enjoyed all the times that we were there.

This place is for someone who wants comfort when away from home. Their attention to details in housekeeping and hospitality is impressive. Even thought it could be quite pricey for solo travelers, the quality of their service is top notch which in my opinion worth every penny. Overall, I had a great experience staying here and I highly recommend this place for those people who prioritize cleanliness and peace.
