Went for afternoon tea to celebrate my sister's birthday and would undoubtedly consider returning. The weather was too cold to be out, but the conservatory area meant that we could still enjoy the fantastic scenery whilst enjoying the range of cream cakes, sandwiches and other delights. Staff were extremely friendly and it was nice to have the option of sitting...

Excellent Food, Good size portions, very well presented. Compliments to the Chef. The Staff were very attentive. Beautiful views. No complaints. I noticed in a previous review it was stated that the blinds were dirty in the conservatory, when in fact it was obvious there had been a leak and they were water marked, things happen. My overall experience of...

If you are looking for a well-run comfortable country-house hotel proximate to the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains you need look no further. Gliffaes has been a firm favourite since my teenage years ( and those were a long tine ago! ). The architecture may appear a bit 'querky' but ignore that; the quality of both the service and...

Our daughters and granddaughter treated my husband and I to a stay here, to celebrate his birthday. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless;cosy and very comfortable with a generous sized bathroom. The bedding was brilliant (often a problem with pillows in many hotels), and the towels and toiletries were first class. The afternoon tea was...

I have lunch here quite often. The food is first class, the chef does imaginative dishes but sometimes I just choose a sandwich as these are always tasty and I can not resist a side portion of the delicious chips. The homemade puddings are wonderful too. Along with the food, the staff are welcoming, the views stunning and the ambience...

From the moment we checked in we enjoyed our stay, including a room upgrade which was very comfortable, with 4 poster bed and bathroom and shower. The hotel reminded me of "Fawlty Towers" without John Cleese! However in the best possible way, the breakfasts could be a little more options especially for healthy eaters, however the dinners were very good...

I love the characteristic building, the open fires, huge bed, gorgeous surroundings. The hotel has recently undergone a refurbishment, the place oozes quality in all areas. We were lucky enough to have been allocated one of the refurbished rooms of which was tastefully executed. Bathroom was lovely, well equipped with beautiful soft towels, dressing gowns and lovely toiletries. We ate...

The location is beautiful, with access to walks along the banks of the Usk. The hotel definitely has a country house feel, with large comfortable public rooms with an open fire. We had a small room, which was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The staff were all welcoming and attentive; the receptionist showed us around on arrival for example. We...

I have stayed here before 18 months ago and I like it. Unfortunately we were put in a room with low ceilings and my boyfriend is very tall so that was a bit of a disappointment and I would not choose room 21 next time for that reason, however saying that we both had a good nights sleep - it...
