We wanted to go away for my wife's birthday. Other hotels in the approximate area were much more expensive and had no cancellation and no transfer policies. They did not get my business. The Castle has an interesting history and is a converted private house about 120 years old. The rooms are not huge but were not built as luxurious...

It recently became necessary for us to escape the rigors of Christmas shopping, we chose Ty'r Graig Castle, 'Good Choice' with its lovely friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Our very comfortable room had fabulous views out over the Barmouth estuary. We had our evening meal in the Hotel Restaurant, another good choice, with a lovely ambience, where we enjoyed a wonderful meal,...

From the outside, you know you are in for a superb treat. Upon entering Ty Craig hotel we were warmly greeted by the owner who was both very knowledgeable about his hotel and very funny. Looking around, you are near whisked back in time to beautiful flooring, winding wooden staircase and stunning stained glass windows. The ambience oozes nostalgia. A...

We're so pleased that you enjoyed every aspect of your stay, and your eloquent review was clearly written from the heart. A fantastic weekend retreat; lovely location, spectacular views and a quaint local town just 15-20 minutes stroll from the hotel. Over-looking sandy beaches, ringed by hilltops, we stayed in room number four – complete with balcony. The breakfast was superb, and the staff were friendly. I certainly recommend having a meal at The Last Inn.

The breakfast was very nice and it's a beautiful building to stay in with great views. Because of it's elevated position it's quite a walk down to the main seafront attractions and would be too far to walk in bad weather, We had the small room because it was the only one available with a sea view and even though...

Hello Catherine B Thank you for your comments, albeit rather belatedly! We do advise that we are approximately 3/4 mile from the town, which is a 10 - 15 minute walk. And if only we could control the weather!! Where applicable, we do advise people on booking that the en-suite is small. The constraints of adding en-suite facilities to a...

An Interesting house with a special history. The service and the food were excellent. We had a turret room (no 5) which was very clean and comfortable, only the small size of the bathroom was the sole disappointment. Superb sea views from the bedroom, dining room and the lounge.

Hello Bilje113, Thank you for your comments; the history of the house IS so special, and the views are the reason for the house being built in the first place.
