I really liked Arlene who really went out of her way to welcome and make us comfortable. The breakfast/sitting room had a beauriful view of the loch and the breakfast was first class. We aslo left early and I really appreciated the effort Arlene put into providing a brekfast pack which was most welcome. I have never stayed anyway where...

My mum, my husband, and I stayed here the night before our verrrrrry early ferry ride over to Skye. Lovely views, and Arlene, the proprietress, was kind enough to provide us with a veritable cornucopia of crackers, cheeses, granola bars, cookies (sorry, biscuits), and things to tide us over since we had to leave before 6AM to catch the ferry,...

Very nice B&B, very clean and comfortable. The hostess Arlene was friendly and made us feel at home. We had a small room but fine for the three days we were staying. Breakfast is HUGE, it kept us going till well after lunch. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed one night prior to an early ferry back to the mainland. Arlene gave us a very friendly welcome to her home - we had a small room ( but knew this in advance) and it was perfect for one night - good sized ensuite with bath and shower and all sorts of extras included. Arlene provided a huge breakfast...

Had a very enjoyable night here while touring the Outer Hebrides. Hostess, Arlene made us feel at home from the second we stepped through her door. Our room was gorgeous, overlooking the loch, and had everything we could have asked for. The ensuite was lovely, with plenty of toiletries provided. For the benefit of anyone who reads an earlier review...

Nice hotel, quiet close to the ferry. The ensuite rooms are well furnished, the beds are fluffy. Arlene is very friendly, we came with one hour late and we leaved before 7 O'clock for the ferry, she waked up just for us, to make sure that we were ready and she prepared a nice continental breakfast just for us (orange...

We arrived to welcome drinks & a snack. Although we had booked the smallest (double) room, it was more than adequate & was en suite. The lounge / dining room had picture-window views of West Loch Tarbert. Complimentary drinks. We could borrow maps & guides for our exploration of Harris & Lewis. We were warmly welcomed by our hostess. There...

Perhaps it isn't fair to judge a B&B on the basis of one night and a very early departure to catch the morning ferry, but we weren't overwhelmed by Avalon. It's very professionally run and our room was large enough and the beds were comfortable.I can't comment on the breakfast as we got the early morning departure breakfast tray which...

Stayed here for one night while visiting Harris & Lewis. Room was clean and adequate for one night. Didn't like sliding door to bathroom, a proper closing door would be better. Breakfast very good, and breakfast room was lovely with very nice views. Other reviewers mentioned a wee dram available as a nightcap. Great idea but the hostess omitted to...

We had a great stay at Arlenes Place. Booked last minute, our room (the last one available) was small but very nice, the bathroom with a bathtub and everything you can wish (nice cosy towels, shampoo, conditioner...). The lounge offered a beautiful view as well as nice sofa to just sit and read in quiet. The breakfast was the best...
