Castle Douglas packed on a Saturday night. Our B&B host recommended two places for food but these and other restaurants were full or we'd have to wait a long time for service, so we continued looking and saw the Douglas Arms had a nice looking dining room with spare tables. We were welcomed and served very helpfully by friendly staff....

We booked in for two nights in April 2015 after buying a groupon. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was very old fashioned an desperately in need of repair and a good clean of their carpets. The bed was very uncomfortable and I had to ask for an additional duvet just to pad it out a little. The...

This hotel is very shabby inside and outside. However on the positive side, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. It's location is in the centre of the town with some nice shops, cafes and restaurants.

The room was of a decent size but on two levels, with the bathroom down steps. View from the room was rooftops and car park. The...

We booked this hotel through itison and after reading some reviews I was a bit reserved. But we had a great stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The meal we had was lovely too. We spent the night in the bar which was very reasonably priced. Yes, it could do with a little updating and a fresh coat of...

Arrived to this hotel to be greeted by the front and side having a missing sign, the car park was through archway where you park your car under a unsteady looking shed structure. We arrived into a dark, dingey and musty reception area. We were greeted at reception and show to our room, room 17, when we arrived the mattress...

We have stayed here several times and the service and food have always been excellent. Accommodation good for the price. Staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely stay again.
