The Creebridge House Hotel is a traditional Scottish country house hotel, with 18 ensuite bedrooms, which preserves the peace and tranquility of rural life in elegant surroundings.Your hosts, Stephen, Sarah, Rory,Campbell and the rest of the team look forward to offering you a warm welcome and comfortable stay. The hotel acquired it's name from the nearby River Cree and is situated in 3 acres of garden and woodland, in the village of Minnigaff, at the edge of Kirroughtree forest. The busy market town of Newton Stewart is a mere 2 minutes walk across the Cree Bridge, where you will find a Cinema, Museum, Tourist Information, Leisure Centre with swimming pool, and a range of supermarkets, shops and services. The Hotel has a Scottish Tourist Board 3-star rating, 3 AA stars and one AA Rosette for food. There is central heating throughout, with roaring log fires in all the public rooms in winter and plenty of hot water on tap. The hotel's location makes it central for a wide variety of activities, from walking & cycling through the nearby Galloway Forest Park, to golf and fishing so close you can walk to the nearest hotspots. In fact the first tee at Newton Stewart Golf Club is just 400 yards away. Approximately 30 minutes drive west on the A75 will take you to Cairnryan with it's ferry links to Belfast in Northern Ireland.

The Creebridge House Hotel comes highly recommended for its family-friendly atmosphere and the excellent dining that guests have called out. Comfortable rooms and a reputation for cleanliness add to the hotel's appeal, though there is some feedback about worn furnishings and a need for decor updates.
Guests frequently commend the hotel's staff for their friendliness and efficiency, contributing to a welcoming environment. However, opinions on value are mixed, with high marks for food and service weighed against concerns over billing and certain amenities.

Our first trip to Scotland from the US was for our 30th anniversary in October 2019. After an all-day fishing trip (our second day driving in Scotland), we headed for our lodging at Creebridge House Hotel in Newton Stewart, following our GPS, only to get a flat tire on the way. It took hours to get a tow truck to us and then another hour plus to be towed to the Hotel. We were nervous, stuck on the side of the road hungry and a bit chilled. While waiting, we called the hotel twice to tell them our problem and ask advice. The receptionist was very kind and compassionate, assuring us someone would be there to let us in, no matter what time we arrived. Our tire went flat at 6:30-ish in the evening, and we didn't get to the hotel until nearly 1:00 in the morning!
Upon arrival at the hotel, at that late (early?) hour, we were greeted by the hotel bartender, Kenny, who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He gave us each a free drink for our trouble and even opened up the kitchen to make us sandwiches himself. We were exhausted and famished! This was my husband's first trip out of the US, and Kenny's kindness will never be forgotten. The next morning, we slept in, missing breakfast, but the staff left our table set up and cold breakfast items out for us to use whenever we awoke. This lodging had the most friendly and caring staff I've ever experienced! And it is beautiful! God willing, I will be back to Scotland and to the Creebridge House Hotel to stay again. Thank you to all at Creebridge who looked after us and made our stay exceptional.

Since moving to Newton Stewart last year, we have visited the Creebridge a few times for a drink in the lovely beer garden. Tonight was the first time we enjoyed a meal inside the hotel.
Service was friendly and efficient and tables inside were well distanced. There is a one way system in operation and all staff were wearing masks so we felt safe. We both enjoyed our food. The portion sizes were perfect and the food quality very good. My husband had the haddock and said the fish was perfect with light and crispy batter which was not greasy. I had the falafel burger with sweet potato fries and salsa which was moist and tasty. We shared key lime pie for dessert as we were quite full.
Very pleased to see that real ale is now back on tap and we enjoyed the excellent Five Kingdoms ‘Bright Idea’ from the Local brewery in the Isle of Whithorn. Very well kept ale - thanks for bringing it back! A big thank you to all the staff for an enjoyable evening at what is now our ‘local.’

Room spotless, extremely attentive staff - nothing too much trouble. Proactive without being too intrusive. Superb breakfast, everything you might want, all served at the table to minimise guests wandering around. Good location in Newton Stewart where there is a very well stocked Co-op in the unlikely event you need to purchase snacks. Evening meals are good - somewhat heavy in calories but the kitchen was very helpful in adjusting the dish on request. A lighter option such as a plain salad wouldn’t go amiss, although I wouldn’t be surprised if the chef would have produced one if I asked.

Went here for our valentines & loved it.
They took us into a small ‘old mans pub’ style bar where our full order was taken then we were given our drinks.
Once our food was almost ready, they took us to the restaurant. This would be my only gripe as they didn’t make it clear that this was what was happening so I sort of had the fear that we were going to have our dinner in the bar area as they were people eating but it wasn’t the most comfortable to eat & someone had their dog there as well which gave the place a bit of a smell. So obviously we were relieved when we asked the waitress who took our drinks orders & she replied saying they would take us to the restaurant nearer the time.
When we were seated in the restaurant we were offered fresh, still warm Parmesan bread to try which was lovely. My fiancé had chicken wings to start & I had the haggis & potato scone tower, both were delicious. We both had a steak for our main which was well cooked & everything was lovely. We shared a sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was also yummy although we couldn’t finish it as we were so full. If I am in the area again I would definitely return.

As other reviewers say, staff at Creebridge House are the most helpful and friendly you'll ever find. There's a great welcome from reception, to the bar, the dining room and at breakfast. Lots of places to sit and relax, with open fires in the lounge and the bar. Dogs are equally welcome, we lost a lead on the way there and Kenny produced one for us to borrow during our stay and did some impromptu training with our terrier! Vegetarian food is good at dinner and breakfast (more limited for vegans), the rooms are lovely with very comfy beds and nice bathroom. If you want a room with a view make sure to ask. We had room 11 which looks on to a flat roof, it was very peaceful though, no noise at all.

Our family were on holiday in Newton Stewart in a house in the town. We have been to the area several times and have been here before and really enjoyed the nice relaxed feeling with warm welcomes. We had been told a new play area had been opened so we thought great, we can take our children.
We visited 3 times on our holidays and twice we enjoyed lovely Warm welcome and delicious food. Inside and at the pizza oven outside.
Unfortunately our visit was tarnished twice by a group of families (I believe to be the same bunch) who were sitting enjoying themselves while letting the children run wild and take over the bouncy castle. My two children 8 &10 were frightened off the bouncy castle by some older boys who I would guess were older than 10.
My wife wouldn't let me confront them and we left.
On our second visit, we were enjoying the outdoor area and almost the same thing happened but to a young family. I took my 2 away from the situation before anyone could be hurt.
One small boy was hut and pushed clean out the bouncy castle on numerous occasions. We spoke to the family in the passing and the boys father had confronted the parents, and had been told to F**k off by them. Very threatening when a group of football hooligan lookalikes feel its OK to take over and swear and shout at a genuinely concerned dad about his very upset 5 year old.
I love the concept of what you are trying to achieve, but unfortunately the level of clientèle thinking its OK to take-over is bringing the good name of your well spoken about hotel down.
And before you ask, did we approach a staff member? the family of the small boy had spoken to the lady at the bar about the problem,m and was from what I believe told, that's what happens as he's a bad boy the one on the castle that's pushing, and the parents are sick of people going on about him?!? Family friend perhaps 🤔
Very helpful. Not.
Food was amazing as always. Very clean and staff friendly.
Here's hoping you can rectify then yob mentality you seem to have attracted.
Will visit again when in area.

Arrived in Newton Stewart today in our motorhome. Temp inside was a mere 34° C so we decided we woukd eat out rather than switch cooker on and raise temp even further. Went to nearest eating place which, due to Covid were not serving food. The very nice lady there pointed us in the direction of the Creebridge and we are glad she did. Got to the door and found that it was reservation only. Their first day of opening since lockdown and they were fully booked, but....... the girl we spoke to said she would speak to ger manager. She did and we got a table in the bar area. Ordered steak pie from the menu. Very large portion artived a short time later. Fresh veg was also provided, which was cooked to perfection. Steak pie was really tasty and i ate more than i should, but it was one of those meals where you don't want to stop eating. Thank you so much to the staff in kitchen and restaurant areas.

When I booked the restaurant for our extended family of 10, 3 young kids included, I asked for a late Burns Supper. They happily obliged and made no fuss or added any extra charges. Upon arrival we were met by a very friendly lady. After our pre dinner drink we were led to an amazing dinner hall. There was a sofa lounge and large dining table ready for our party. Dinner was served with a smile and on time, the kids food was tasty and served during our starters which was perfect for us. Having the lounge to ourselves meant the kids could play with the vast array of board games etc while we relaxed and enjoyed our dining experience. I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I booked to stay at the Creebridge House Hotel for a 5 night stay and to be honest we couldn’t fault the hotel.
Excellent value for money, fantastic choices for breakfast. We dined in the Brasserie in the evenings and the food is first class. There’s a small bar area which has a fantastic atmosphere.
The hotel itself is older but spotlessly clean. From the cleaning staff who do the rooms, the staff who serve breakfast through to reception and dining staff everyone was so polite and friendly. A special mention to Kenny and Leanne who are really outstanding members of staff and made our stay so enjoyable. The quality of staff are what really make this hotel stand out.
I would not hesitate to come back here and hopefully will be back before the end of this year.

We first stayed here in July 2023, and returned October. We are still here as I type this. I cannot fault the hotel at all. The room (Creeview) is amazing, comfortable and still nice and toasty, even given the month we are in. The shower and bathroom of the room/suite is very generous indeed, and as with everywhere within the suite, is cleaned and maintained to a very high standard. Above all this though, the staff are absolutely amazing too. When we checked in, my daughter was remembered from the few months before and spoken to like she matters and deserves attention (I know she does, as does any child, but the fact staff treat my child the way I want her treated, without any effort at all (appears incredibly natural for them) makes me so happy). Tuesday night (October 24th 2023), my daughter wanted an extra drink as she had finished hers before finishing her dinner. The staff allowed her to pick her own from the fridge. When we went back to our dinner, my child said how she felt independent, trusted and special when she was allowed to do this. This made me feel like an extremely happy mum and guest within the hotel, so again, thank you :). Also on dinner the first night (Monday) the staff moved a halloween decoration tree to our table, because my daughter took a liking to it, even though it wasn't at our table at the time. Tuesday dinner came around and they asked if she would like the decoration on her table again. These things may seem small to some people, yet to me it is what makes a stay unique and comfortable. This hotel and their staff deserve both any new guests they may get, and they definitely deserve the repeat guests. I will be speaking to my family upon return home and booking a repeat stay as soon as possible. Again, thanks from the bottom of my heart. Although you had no idea, you have also given my dad reasons to holiday and relax again after the death of his wife/my mum. My dad has felt nothing but comfortable and respected in this hotel. I am also happy, but with my dad, brother and daughter being extremely happy here to, I am just beaming with happiness. I thank you so much again.
