The Old Priory is beautiful, comfortable character filled rooms in the centre of town with a garden and private parking. Robin is a wonderful host, extremely friendly and does a brilliant breakfast. A great place to stay to explore the border country in Scotland.
We were welcomed by a very friendly host and shown around his beautiful home. We had a lovely stay in the family suite with all the facilities you could need and loved breakfast. We were welcome to sit in the garden and garden room which had a variety of books to read and relax in. Robin was very knowledgeable about the local area and informed us of the local restaurants and areas of interest. We will definitely return on our next visit to Kelso. M & P Biggs
The Old Priory is a treat for those who love comfort, history and charm. We received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival - plus tea and cake in the garden! Robin could not be a more friendly and helpful host and can provide advice on whatever might be required. The rooms are large, warm, comfortable, the bedding and towels luxurious, hot water is plentiful and the breakfasts are tasty and generous - everything we could want from a great B&B. The location of The Old Priory is excellent and we really enjoyed exploring all that Kelso and the area has to offer.
We stayed here for 3 days as the home base for cycling day trips in the area. The Old Priory is exquisite -- the breakfasts divine. We stayed in The Study and it was spacious and beautifully decorated. It took us back in time. The bathroom though was modern, spacious and very nice. Robin the proverbial gracious host makes the stay special.
The Old Priory offer homely and comfortable lodgings with wonderful hosting by Robin, a most convivial host with a wealth of local knowledge - and a great breakfast chef - nothing too much trouble (within reasonable bounds I’m sure) We spent two nights in the Turret room - very pleasant. The guest house is located in the heart of Kelso - a charming town indeed. My best advice is go and try for yourself, heartily recommended - Nick and Catherine
The location of the Old Priory is perfect, right in the town centre, close to all amenities and with free parking at the back and on the street. Our room was clean, well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. There is a choice of cooked breakfasts which you can order the day before so you are not waiting long in the morning. A wide selection too of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, conserves etc. Robin was a great host, welcoming and hospitable, giving good tips on eateries and places to visit in the local area. All in all a great stay!
We enjoyed our stay at the Old Priory. Robin was a very helpful host who went out of his way to organise a changed booking. The room was spacious and the shower effective. Having free parking was a bonus and the town location made it easy to walk to restaurants in the evening. I would be happy to return if I were staying in Kelso again
If you're looking for clinical cleanliness and modern facilities then The Old Priory isn't for you. If however you're looking for clean comfortable surroundings and being given the warmest welcome then pay a visit! Huge rooms full of character with all the usual needs catered for. Big towels for the super powerful shower and a choice of soft or firm pillows was a very welcome change. Breakfast was second to none and joyfully served. The garden is a typical town space but with tactfully placed plants to offer privacy. It lies next door to a peaceful area which is a stroll from the river Tweed. Good parking too which is a bonus. I shall return!!
Stayed here for a couple of nights. The Old Priory’s location is spot-on for visiting other local border towns and is in the heart of Kelso from literally walking out the front door. Lots of local shops, pubs/restaurants and only 25-30 minutes walk to the beautiful Floors castle. Breakfast and was good as was the reception from Robin and his team. This being an old traditional setting and a building of character, don’t expect to be living in a sterile “Holiday Inn Express” type room. Rooms including fittings and furnishings are in-fitting with its character.
A fantastic place with an excellent service. We stayed in the family room (planned for 2 days but decided to stay one more night. Nice rooms, nice breakfast and a great service from The host Robin. A great place to stay also if you a car with a free car parking. Our warmest recommendations.
