My brother and myself were doing a bicycle tour and had randomly chosen this premier room to stay for one night, we arrived during a rain shower so we were soaking, as we approached the property Allan was waiting and opened the garage door so we could get ourselves and the bikes out of the rain, then Janet appeared with a clothes airier, the room is at the back of the garage and what a superb room it is, just brilliant, Allan and Janet could not do enough for us, absolutely lovely couple who deserve every success

This is a lovely modern BnB and the hosts Alan and Janet couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Not only do you get a clean modern bedroom but also a snooker room with a TV room and cooking facilities. Alan has worked hard to make this room comfortable and equip it with so many facilities to suit all tastes. Alan and Janet are so nice and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this BnB for anyone who is touring the Borders.

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay here - it was amazing. Allan and Janet could not have done more to make sure that we had everything we needed. The bedroom was immaculately clean and very comfortable, and the self-contained recreation room had everything you could want for a relaxing stay: snooker table, darts board, tv/video, books and games, not to mention a first-rate breakfast next day. After a long walk from Melrose, this was as welcome as an oasis in the desert. Brilliant!

What a fabulous B&B. Spotlessly clean and a very comfortable bed. Lovely touches in the room such as fresh flowers, full size teapot and mugs tasty goodies as well as wine glasses. The extra games/tv/kitchen room was just an added bonus and made us feel like we were in a cottage. The continental breakfast was delicious. Janet and Allan are perfect hosts, helpful and friendly. Ideal location for exploring the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland. Only an hours drive from Edinburgh too. Will definitely be returning as it was so perfect

What a find! My husband was thrilled with the secure parking of our motorcycle in the owner’s garage which led straight into our room. This meant we could unpack and pack with ease. The room was super clean and well-equipped with toiletries. The bed was massive! There is the added bonus of a games room, located in the garden, for guests to use. Breakfast is taken there - this is a big room with a full-size snooker table, darts board, tv and lounge & kitchen area. Owners are so friendly and knowledgable. Thoroughly recommended.

This is more llke a two-room suite at a first class hotel than a B&B Bedroom The bedroom is a converted office at the back of the garage Big airy room, with views overlooking the garden. Comfortable BIG bed. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated Tea coffee and a whole packet of biscuits Large screen TV Bathroom is again nicely appointed with shower cubicle (no bath) Dining Room/Lounge Also include is access to a huge room with a breakfast bar/Dining area at one end and a relaxing area at the other. Dining area. Quality modern units and appliances: Kettle, massive toaster Microwave Combi (grill and convection) and induction hotplate. Full size fridge More tea and coffee, milk in fridge Again all spotlessly clean Breakfast: Described as continental - nobody will go hungry! Plate of fresh fruit (melon, strawberries, blueberries; toast (real butter, not margarine).; yoghurts; croissants; full-size cereal packets; eggs; jars air jam, marmalade and Marmite Good points: Really nice hosts, could not do enough for you, Luxury standards at a budget price. Comfortable and spacious. Private entrance to accommodation. Bad points: None Very highly recommended

We’ve stayed at a lot of different accommodation as we visit this area approximately every 3 months visiting family, Premier Room outshines even the best of them. I can honestly say Premier Room is outstanding, everything you could need and more has been thought of. Everything is spotless, it’s extremely comfortable and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be booking Premier Room every time we visit if its available. Not sure what the other review is all about, from the outset it states no pets so why on earth would you turn up with dogs, sounds pretty cruel leaving dogs locked in a van all night too. Sour grapes maybe? Regardless, if you want an excellent stay, fabulous continental breakfast, spotless comfortable room and games room you cant go wrong with Premier Room, worth every penny thank you.

Booked through booking .com. We use hotels etc regularly. After a 7 hour drive the owner was very hostile towards us because we had our dogs in the camper ready for a dog show next day. We had no intention of the dogs being on the premises but he did not want the Camper outside his house that evening so told us to leave. He did email to say that Dogs were not allowed IN the premises ,nothing about the public road outside. He had already taken the money for this booking and would not refund. Booking . com could do nothing they said, so currently exploring other avenues i.e Claims Court . If the owner is reading this then let it be known i do not bluff. Very HOSTILE towards his clients .. BEWARE

Brian booked 4th May, I emailed Brian on 4th 5th &7th May explaining we did not take dogs as he had booked the weekend of local dog show. No reply, eventually reply no mention of dogs. Turns up with four dogs in the back of VW transporter. “No dogs” “don’t want dogs in van on drive either”. I received verbal abuse which included, f*** sake. Brian decided going elsewhere. Arrived back at door, willing to leave dogs in back of van in street. I give in and took Brian and his wife in to show them the room, expressed my concerns regards situation dogs on street, received more verbal abuse from Brian’s wife. Had enough ask them both to leave, received more abuse, this time in French. Was asked for refund, refused.
