I visited this pub last week with some friends. Whilst we all enjoyed the drive over and the position of the pub (and the interior) the food was not particularly enjoyable and very expensive. I had the beetroot trout starter which was miniscule for £8.50 and served with no bread - I felt cheated. The ham hock in brioche bun...

Absolute amazing find! Friends told about the Beckford Arms and the fact they are dog friendly, we managed to book room 6 (that allows dogs to stay too) mid week at very short notice... have to say the staff are extremely friendly, very welcoming to Bentley our dog too. Our room was lovely and comfortable, the food was amazing, we...

We stopped for lunch to break a bank holiday journey to Somerset. The food and service really lived up to all that's been written about the Beckford Arms. We had a lovely lunch sitting on the terrace. The service was very friendly and our puppy was made very welcome with treats. We would lobe to come back and stay in...

Service was great and the food was spot on. The pub is beautiful, with a lovely conservatory, nice countryside decor. Menu was varied and had a great choice of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. Rioja Santiago wine was lovely as well! Perfect for a lunch/dinner with friends or family.

As a regular visitor to the Beckford Arms it has been a firm favourite for several years. The last two visits have left me feeling I have spent a lot of money for little return and that it has been riding the coat-tails of past success and focus. The positives: outstanding location/setting, good interior and generally pleasant staff. The negatives:...

I had been recommended by clients to visit this pub for dinner for such a long time & finally the perfect opportunity came up. Lovely decor, alittle quirky layout & great atmosphere. It felt rather relaxed for a very busy Easter lunch sitting & the large sofas I think are a great touch for lounging after dinner. We had a rather...

This is a wonderful, friendly and well run pub, we had 14 for an Easter lunch and the service and food were without fault. Really welcoming, the lunch was great value and the possible horror of a large family gathering with small children was effortless, warm and enjoyable. A huge thanks to all.

Visiting friends near Salisbury this last weekend we went to the Beckford Arms for lunch on Saturday. Our table outside in the garden was very pleasant and we had the mackerel and beer battered cod. Food all hot and fresh and most enjoyable. Desserts delicious but pricey. Staff friendly and helpful and we would certainly go again. This is a...

This was our second visit to the Beckford Arms and we were not disappointed. The rooms are relatively small but are beautifully furnished. The shower was lovely and the bed comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent - with the exception of the gnocchi which they seemed to struggle with. However, my lamb on the first night was excellent,...

Having had lovely meals here in the past we were excited to treat ourselves and stay the night Unfortunately the room was dirty and I mean dirty Stained rugs and sofa, balls of dust under the bedside cabinet, soap suds on the bathroom floor, no milk for tea The dining experience was marred by the attitude of the staff
