I love this place, so do all of my family. Fab location, amazing views. The style of the hotel is very quirky, packed full of antiques and curio. Great bar, serving my favourie gin, Martin Miller's. We've had two great stays here and can't wait for our next.

I have stayed three times at Millers in the past three years each for three nights on one of their DBB deals with three nights for the price of two. We also took our ancient pooch. Whilst the bedrooms (we had a pooch friendly one so it might not have been the nicest) might look a bit tired and the...

Excellent food in a 7 course menu with a comprehensive good value wine list. Friendly and attentive staff. Incredible decor, literally stuffed with books and antiques. Finished off with an inclusive glass of sparkling wine and fireworks over the Weir

Stayed a couple of nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very kind and welcoming and arranged for us to have dinner in the lounge so we didn't have to leave our dog in our room. The hotel decor is fab with lots of quirky stuff everywhere and the food was great, if a little on the pricy side....

Lovely Hotel absolutely steeped in Antiques, it is like overnighting in an Antique shop too many items for choice and throughout the Hotel upstairs and downstairs plenty of plaques explaining the History. Food sits middle of the road and Beverage well balanced list and prices. Keats Suite front sea view very attractive pity that we were not told that the...

We really enjoyed our stay in this corner of the world. We were blessed with good weather, bright but cold! Lovely walks if you enjoy walking! The hotel is quirky - full of antiques and curios. But it was really cold! The owners are obviously trying to save money and the heating was on for only a limited period. We...

My wife and I took our mother and step mother for a trip to Exmoor on Sunday with lunch at Millers. We have dined here once before, it was excellent last time and didn't dissapoint this time either. Ok, it was just a simple Sunday Roast but it's amazing how many places dish up a plate piled to sky with...

We really enjoyed our visit to Miller's. Really relaxing environment - comfy sofas, old-style decor which I really liked. Board or card games to play. Friendly staff, for whom nothing was to much trouble. Dog was welcome too and was given a treat, which pleased him immensly! And the cream tea was lovely - plenty of cream and jam to...

Founded by a serious antiques collector (the late Mr Miller), the place is absolutely stuffed with them - from gorillas and skeletons down to the vintage teapots in the rooms. It's a really friendly place, with a comfortable lounge and open fire for pre-dinner drinks. The restaurant is good too, and I particularly recommend the local cheeseboard!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
For over 200 years the Anchor has served Porlock Weir's 15th-century harbor for sailors, walkers and huntsmen alike. Where Exmoor meets the sea, Porlock Weir is an idyllic working harbor with stunning coastal views. Martin Miller together with his daughter Tanya have created a hunting lodge by the sea. This 14-bedroom hotel is crammed with Martin's antiques and curiosities. The Anchor has all the hallmarks of his unique style. Roaring log fires, candlelit sensuality, books by the thousand and bowls of fruit and sweets, all washed down with a Millers award winning Gin and tonic. ... more   less
