We really enjoyed our stay in this corner of the world. We were blessed with good weather, bright but cold! Lovely walks if you enjoy walking! The hotel is quirky - full of antiques and curios. But it was really cold! The owners are obviously trying to save money and the heating was on for only a limited period. We...

My wife and I took our mother and step mother for a trip to Exmoor on Sunday with lunch at Millers. We have dined here once before, it was excellent last time and didn't dissapoint this time either. Ok, it was just a simple Sunday Roast but it's amazing how many places dish up a plate piled to sky with...

We really enjoyed our visit to Miller's. Really relaxing environment - comfy sofas, old-style decor which I really liked. Board or card games to play. Friendly staff, for whom nothing was to much trouble. Dog was welcome too and was given a treat, which pleased him immensly! And the cream tea was lovely - plenty of cream and jam to...

Founded by a serious antiques collector (the late Mr Miller), the place is absolutely stuffed with them - from gorillas and skeletons down to the vintage teapots in the rooms. It's a really friendly place, with a comfortable lounge and open fire for pre-dinner drinks. The restaurant is good too, and I particularly recommend the local cheeseboard!

Spent a couple of nights here and found it a wonderfully relaxing place set in some very picturesque countryside which was a riot of colour as Autumn spread its bronzed hues. As others have mentioned, the collection of antiques, books and artefacts give Millers a very original and often humorous character, which was added to by a few Halloween touches....

You are taken back in time as soon as you step inside the hotel. It is completely decorated with things from yesteryear and plenty of antiques. Unfortunately the furniture in our room had seen better days (chair covers fraying) but the view over the small harbour is fantastic. Very good location and the gin was very good. Staff were friendly...

This hotel is seriously quirky and full of character, and extremely warm and cozy. We needed a dog friendly hotel and this place delivered. There is a warm and inviting 'front room' which is filled with antiques, knick knacks and board games but is absolutely fascinating to look at and be surrounded with. Brings a huge amount of character to...

Booked a nights stay here last minute for a special occasion. I was a bit worried about what would be nearby for dinner as a quick search didn't bring back a lot of options. I thought it was funny that there were 2 gorilla statues outside the hotel, which more or less set the tone for the whole place in...

Very unusual Hotel being crammed with Artefacts, Antiques, Books etc etc but it all adds to the charm. To have a Black Rat staring at you when you are drinking your Gin is a hoot and for sure they are not real neither are the spiders but it makes for a interesting décor. The Multi-National staff are superb, food is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
For over 200 years the Anchor has served Porlock Weir's 15th-century harbor for sailors, walkers and huntsmen alike. Where Exmoor meets the sea, Porlock Weir is an idyllic working harbor with stunning coastal views. Martin Miller together with his daughter Tanya have created a hunting lodge by the sea. This 14-bedroom hotel is crammed with Martin's antiques and curiosities. The Anchor has all the hallmarks of his unique style.
