Reviewed yesterday NEW

I've visited The Longmynd before, and there have obviously been some improvements, although there is still a lot to do. Some windows have been replaced, but the sills are rotten. There is the new format of a 'premium single' room, which I felt wasn't worth the extra money. Apparently these are now in all HF houses. A very small shower...

This is a great place for the single older traveller; it's very friendly and relaxed, with very good breakfasts. The staff were dedicated and attentive. There are quizzes and talks etc in the evening if you want to join in. My only complaint is that the place could do with an upgrade, especially the carpeted ensuites (mine needed to be...

Stayed here for a weekend with our walking group of over 30 people. We thought the hotel offered good value and a superb location just outside the town. My single room was very comfortable with a good en suite and a sunny balcony with a lovely view. The food was exceptional, a good choice of well cooked meals and certainly...

I stayed at the Longmynd hotel whilst on a 4 night Bridge holiday. The hotel is situated in a stunning location with fabulous views across the countryside. My room was extremely clean, comfortable and well furnished. The double bed was excellent and ensured a very good night's sleep. The en suite was small but more than adequate with a powerful...

Hf were originally walking holidays, now. They also do many types of holidays. I stayed for a 3 night craft taster, I was able to try each of the four courses on offer. Making a stained glass light catcher, learning to cut glass. A bracelet using bead weaving method. Mosaic coasters and a picture made from different wools and textiles....

We stayed B&B for a weekend for our wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed our stay. They cater for walkers and crafting and outdoor activities. The walk into town is down hill, but the walk back is not too strenuous and is about half a mile. The view from the lounge / dining room is amazing. The food is fabulous and...

We had a most enjoyable Bank holiday break here doing some hill walking. We were given a map of the local areas and had access to walks information at the Discovery Point in the hotel. The food, as always in HF houses was excellent and the staff were pleasant and helpful. We had an upgraded room for which we paid...

Stayed here as part of an HF Holidays booking--they own the hotel. They knew this was a single room (one key, one set of towels, tiny room with tiny bed!) but put us into it nevertheless. We thought it ridiculously small, but they just pulled a fast one with us. It was obvious when they went out to get another...

This hotel recently purchased by HF Holidays a company specialising in walking holidays and in this category is second to none. I stayed mon-fri and took advantage of their guided walks (there was a choice of 4 led walks each day) you can self guide if you wish and they provide you with map/directions to take with you. The walks...

The Longmynd dates from the early 1900s and originally attracted Edwardian visitors to the 'Little Switzerland' of Church Stretton. With a magnificent hill-top location, there are panoramic views of the surrounding hills from the dining room and our lounges. Today the Longmynd has been extensively modernised to suit the needs of visitors. We offer spacious bedrooms, fabulous food and spacious lounges to relax in.
