Nether Grange is an HF property and has an arrangement with a local taxi firm to collect guests from Alnmouth railway station. This worked very well as there were several of us bound for Nether Grange and so we were able to share the taxi fare. The total fare to the hotel was £6 (in 2016). We paid extra for... More

We have just stayed here a week . The house is beautiful , well placed for the sea and the delightful town of Alnmouth. The place is very clean and staffed by friendly , helpful & caring people especially a lady who I was told was called Dixon ( no idea how to spell her name ). She's a very... More

Had a nice sized room with plenty of draw space and sufficient wardrobe space plus decent sized bathroom. The only snag was it was a bit drak However it was preferable to having to climb a lot of stairs for a view room. Food was good as was the social programmem Unfortunately the weather was not good and the bus... More

Six of our dancing group went for 4 nights dancing and walking. A very busy four days with dancing morning and evening and the option of a shorter walk in the afternoon. The menu was not limited as in a previous comment and the food wonderful. So much in fact that soup, starter and pudding would have sufficed. Great company... More

After a warm welcome, we found our rooms to be clean, tidy with wonderful view over the long sandy beach. We could watch the golfers, dog walkers and walkers from early morning to late evening. Breakfast offering varied, fresh and wholesome, the picnic lunch made available was excellent, and the evening meal always well presented and enjoyable. Would definitely visit... More

This is a very friendly place to stay. We were well fed and enjoyed good company for a week's holiday this June. We did our own thing during the days, but it was lovely to have company and activities in the evening. The room was comfortable and had all the facilties we needed and the duty manager, Jono, was very... More

Nether Grange is one of HR Holidays' locations so is geared to walking and cultural tourism groups and it is very good at it. You need to be aware that you eat at large tables from a restricted dinner menu, almost everyone joins one of the guided walks or tours during the daytime, and there are organised activities each evening.... I stayed here a year ago and had a negative experience regarding the food, so much so that when I returned in October I just stayed bed and breakfast and ate in the Red Lion! However this time I took advantage of an offer from HF - 3 day break with £100 off! Too good to miss! I was not... More

Stayed here as part of a HF walking holiday for the coastal section of St Oswalds Way. We had paid for a premium room, which was spacious and comfortable. If I'd stayed longer I'd probably have put on weight, even with walking every day. The food was plentiful and excellent, and the staff were a joy. Really recommend this hotel... More

Stayed here as part of a HF Heritage holiday. This was my first visit to this part of the country and couldn't have chosen a nicer spot - views from bedroom window of the sea and the sand dunes. It was communal dining which was organised very well and is part of the ethos of HF. Having to choose the... More
