We stayed at the Fauconberg Arms in July 2013 and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, despite the torrential rain. The Fauconberg Arms is a proper Inn, with a proper pub, serving good quality local fodder and well kept ales. It does not pretend to be anything other than this. The pub rooms are as you would expect of a...

Friends of our's found this gem of an inn to enable us to meet up on our way back from Scotland. Both couples have dogs and I can categorically state that this is a truly dog-friendly place! We were all made very welcome, were well hosted throughout our stay and were graciously bid farewell. Our rooms were clean and comfortable,...

Sometimes you arrive at a place and know that you've arrived in your happy place and this was one of those times! Every single member of staff was accommodating, friendly, fun and happy and couldn't do enough for us. The food was great, beer and wine was criminally cheap (especially when compared to London and Surrey prices). I was even...

After a few too many at a wedding at byland abbey the night before a good quality full english also went down a treat! Highly...

Stayed in Pinkerspond, a lovely double aspect room with a large comfy bed. Small shower room but a very good shower. Had our evening meal in the very attractive dining room,...

Popped in for lunch while driving through the area, and enjoyed a warm welcome and excellent food - the hot roast beef sandwich was exactly what we needed on a rather damp and dreary Sunday in May. Pity I was driving, would have liked to sit and enjoy a few beers, but now it's on the list of places to...

First visit. Had sunday lunch which was very good and portions generous. Meat was tender but cutlery was useless and knife was so blunt that we thought that the meat was tough at first. Fire in dining room was useless and belched out more smoke than heat. Waiting staff very pleasant although two of them kept coming and asking same...
