We rented Kessen Bowl Cottage for a week, although it is a 2 bed flat above a gift shop it is a very homely place, it has all that is needed for a pleasant quiet stay. Access is via stone steps up to the front door, there being about a dozen or so. The cottage is located in the middle...

We have just had a long weekend here to celebrate a 'special' birthday. 10 of us in all and we had both the house and apartment. The quality of the rooms and fittings in the house is both of a superb quality and in keeping with the building. It certainly cannot be faulted, in fact the pictures do not do...

Went to the Old Cottage for a week over Christmas. Really enjoyed it. Staithes is a lovely village, only downside is the complete ignorance of dog owners( there are many tourists with dogs stopping in Staithes) dog s##t is quite common on the streets and pavements, ignorant owners need there noses rubbing in it!! Cottage is lovely, literally nothing is...

Lovely snatched views, wood burner bit unusual to light but once worked out warmed up quickly. Beds and linen, towels etc very lovely, all slept really well. Steep steps up to the car park and very difficult to load and unload. Beautiful village, unfortunately gift shop shut the whole time we were there.

We have stayed in Harbourside for many years now and always had an amazing time (so much so that we've actually bought our own cottage now lol). Maureen is so lovely and very helpful. Always available for a chat and a bit of advice. The Harbourside cottage offers probably the best view of Staithes by a mile and is always...

Mixed feelings......the view from this house is amazing and the option to reserve parking unique to Staithes and a real convenience. However, while I understand that seagull poop is an occupational hazard when next to the sea, the view from the front room, which should have been the piece de resistance, was obscured, with dried poop, which should have been...

Upon arriving we found a cute apartment just big enough for two which was the reason we picked Balmoral Apartment. It was a freezing but sunny weekend and was hoping for a nice warm welcome but what we found was a freezing apartment with storage heaters with no instructions on when they would start working after being given switched on...

Stayed at this delightful cottage early January and will definitely be returning Easy to locate and well sited for the old village amenities and beach area Probably the best equipped kitchen we have stopped in with superb views of the bay. It was a highlight of the day to sit and have breakfast in there. Enjoyed sitting out on the...

Stayed at North Lea for one week when the weather was superb, sun all day for seven days. Location in Staithes is very good, with two nine year olds crabbing by the lifeboat station or paddling around the harbour in an inflatable was no problem. Rock pooling and fishing + the walk along the beach to Runswick passed several days...

“again, research your cottage! book in plenty of time and ask Maureen's advice if you have specific needs: eg Coble Cottage is really the only property suitable for guests with limited mobility. please note that this is a quirky, tiny little village and properties are created amongst the original tiny fishermen's cottages so expect innovative uses of space, strange angles, smaller rooms. If you want the character you need to be ready to be flexible! If you want space and straight lines, stay in a Marriott! All finished to a comfortable standard.”
