There are times when you need to aspire to haute cuisine dining; delicate palates, olfactory pleasantries, a presentation that would win a Turner Prize. My advice?Leave all that at the door. Walk 15 miles without breakfast. Lock yourself in a lift for the weekend. Then you might be able to finish your meal. This is food for the cold and...

We had a lovely weekend here recently. The room was very bright and clean with lovely little extras. The breakfasts are great and cooked to order and the evening meal huge portions. Certainly value for money. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

I wanted to visit Staithes as I had many happy childhood memories from there and hadn't been back for many years. We stayed at Captain Cook Inn and were immediately greeted as we were parking the car by a friendly lady. We signed in and were shown our room which was surprisingly large and beautifully decorated. There was a 4...
