Detailed Reviews
6 of us stayed in apartment 101 during the Cheltenham Festival. We were all impressed with the decor which is beautiful, (we loved the artwork) everywhere is spotlessly clean, in fact pristine. There is plenty of room for everyone, large kitchen and living room and good sized bedrooms with plenty of storage with huge beds that we didn't really want to leave behind. There are plenty of utensils in the kitchen if you want to cook but we ate a the pub opposite and the food and service matched the WOW factor of the apartment perfectly. Before we stayed we needed to arrange transport into Cheltenham so I e-mailed Matt, expecting a reply the following morning. He e-mailed straight back and recommended "Wonky Wheels", within 10 minutes of me e-mailing an enquiry, they called me back and I booked the taxi straight away, really reasonably priced, lovely drivers and turned up on time for both journeys. All in all, we would highly recommend the Railway Apartments.

Wow!!! We stayed in apartment 101 and it was stunning. The bedrooms were all a great size, with one being en-suite. The shared bathroom was smaller but perfect for sharing. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Towels were provided on all beds and there was even tea, coffee, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and washing machine pouches. I couldn’t fault the stay. We stayed for a wedding and my mum, who is the biggest critic I know, approved. If you knew her, you’d realise that is high praise indeed!!!

Elegant, spacious, peaceful Georgian rooms with unobtrusive but state of the art eco-technology throughout: well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms; a fantastic music centre and TV and even an outside Electronic Vehicle charging point. Beautiful outside space for croquet, BBQ or just relaxing. Huge, comfy beds and plenty of storage space. In the very heart of Nailsworth, within easy, scenic walking distance of restaurants and shops. Mat and Carol were welcoming and very helpful hosts.

Great find! Apartment is modern and spacious in a great location with shops and restaurants only a short walk away. The owner Matt was friendly and on hand if you need anything. We slept really well in the comfortable beds that had good quality bedding. Would book here again for a visit to the Cotswolds!

+1
The apartment was dirty. The toilet smelled bad and had specs of excrement inside / had not been cleaned. The work tops in the kitchen were unclean and there was dust and hair in the corners and scuff marks on most of the walls. There were also stains on the pillows in the bedroom and scuff marks on the walls and a mucky sofa. We had no choice but to stay for the first night but didn’t want to stay the second as it fell well below expectations. The apartment is described as luxury many times on its website but it felt more like a hostel (not helped by the amateur art on the walls). There were two coffee pods for 4 guests for two nights and no toiletries in the bathrooms. It’s also next to a busy road so you get lots of traffic noise and sirens if the windows are open. The host did offer to have it cleaned again but we didn’t want to stay and a refund for the second night was refused. And all for nearly £600 we won’t see again. An expensive mistake.

Response from Matthew Webb, Owner at Railway Hotel Apartments
Responded 14 Aug 2024
Please read our reviews. This is not a true reflection of what is my favourite apartment. Yasmin clearly did not require the second night and has over exaggerated in order to try and recoup her booking. We take pride in what we offer and the apartments are spotless (yes there is the odd scuff mark), therefore the request for a refund was refused as we will not be held to ransom and rely on both our loyal repeat customers and new customers who leave honest reviews.
