I visited the bar (to the right as you walk in the door) with a few friends. We were there a few drinks and a couple of us ordered food. The service was fine but the prices here are utterly ridiculous! I paid £3.60 for one pint of Diet Coke! Then I ordered a chicken and mayo baguette, which cost...

Third time we have been for Sunday roast and have tried beef, lamb and today chicken none of it particularly nice. Veg was only bit that made it edible. Beef was tough that was in June but we came back in August and had lamb. Served very rare and very fatty waitress said that was how the lamb was! That...

We recently stayed at the hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful, we stayed in the Lipton room which was a good sized room with a giant bed and nicely decorated. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others, much more comfortable than other hotels in the area.

We had a standard room at the rear of the hotel, smallish but good enough bed for a short stay. The view to the bay has been replaced by new housing but still rear of hotel has pleasant far view. There are larger bedrooms and suites so maybe better to choose one of those if in for more than 1...

good points: convenient location on main road to Harwich Town with local shops well tended grounds attractive building bad points: Upon arrival the only ceiling light didn't work. Although sounding doubtful at first reception had a spare. My wife ran a shower. Being in a hurry she got in while it was still cool. It then heated to scaldingly hot...

Came here for lunch with friends and our children and was very disappointed. No kids menu. Overly priced food. Asked about kids menu and was told to half the cost and portions of main menu. All our meals were served at different times, and me and my children ended up waiting 35 minutes!!! Byt his time my children did not...

Visited the Tower Hotel for a meal which we have done in the past and it has been excellent not been for a while and was we surprised the food might as well have been cooked in a side road burger bar but for 3 times the price the prawn cocktail was bagged salad with prawns so small they looked...

Arrived around 2030 hours, reception was not staffed (the waitress was also taking care of the reception). Still in time for dinner (last order 2045), the restaurant has a good choice of specials and international dishes. Friendly and speedy service. Although we wanted to have dessert, we skipped it because the chef and (we believe) sous chef entered the bar...

We have just returned from an overnight stay in the Lipton room, without doubt the best hotel break we have ever had. The staff were friendly and polite, and nothing was too much trouble, whenever we needed extra drink supplies for our room they were there, delivered in a shot. The hotel grounds and garden were stunning, and the decor...

Stayed for two nights whilst down for best friend's wedding. Had a quite abrupt front of house woman for two of the days who was very short with several guests and then proceeded to tell my partner that it was 'normal' to be electrocuted from the room's hairdryer...just 'sorry, are you OK?' would have sufficed. Room was nice but boiling...
