Entrance hall and staircase very impressive with delightful gardens with outside seating.Bar has a very impressive Victorian style furnishing.Reception staff were extremely helpful at all times and check-in was straightforward.Room was described as a "suite" but was a fairly standard double.Bed very comfortable and bathroom clean with a shower but no bath.Shower head was ceiling mounted with no hand held...

I hadn't been in the Tower Hotel for over 10 years and decided to come along with my family for a meal. All I can say is WOW, the food was amazing well cooked and well presented and even with it being busy still came out without delay and the staff where incredibly helpful and friendly.

On arrival the initial impression is wow this looks nice, this continues into the reception and communal areas, bar, restaurant etc. The room itself was somewhat small with poor soundproofing between rooms. Although the room seemed clean the shower needed a good scrub, grouting between the tiles going orange and black in places is not a great look. Also I...

I have eaten here a few times now since the new head chef was appointed and I have to say that the standard is wonderful! The food is always delicious and well presented and it is clear to see that pride is taken in using fresh ingredients. Looking forward to enjoying one of the new afternoon teas soon. I'm sure...

Have visited many times but this time will be the last! We ordered a couple of sandwiches, which arrived after 25 minutes, strange as there was no-one else eating! The bread was stale, and the salad had died long ago! We were told the bread had arrived that morning and the salad had dressing on it! Does that mean when...

The rooms are large, and well appointed. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is very nice and well priced. The beds are comfortable (albeit a double is two singles with a sheet over the top - I dislike that) The shower is hot and fast. For the money it's great. It's location is right on the main road into...

This hotel stands out a mile from the choice Harwich has to offer. Stayed over Easter and it's fab value for money. It's a bit of glam and luxury in an OK town. Big rooms, a nice bar, and god location in Dovercourt. Nowhere else to stay as good as this in Harwich.

The only failing with this hotel is the bathroom cleaning. I have stayed here several times and whilst the rooms are cleaned, the detail and finnesse of cleaning is lacking, black mould is visible on ceilings, walls and tiles, especially in the corners, etc. It would be really nice to see this corrected and kept at a level equal to...

I have stayed at this hotel regularly, over the last year. The hotel is comfortable, although some of the rooms are on the small side. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is good. The building is quite a sight, built as a private residence, it has high ceilings and many Victorian features.
