Having been disappointed over and over again with being unable to find a decent restaurant in UK, and only finding 'pub grub' with fish and chips, we were pleased to find the Alexandra Hotel and its restaurant. We actually drove past it as went into Lyme town but it looked so nice we turned around and went back to it....

Just back from a two night break. Love this hotel, we've stayed there six times now, the staff are friendly. The larger sea view rooms are wonderful, comfortable bed and modern decor. The restaurant is lovely and the food perfect but need to add extra vegetables. The conservatory is the place for a cream tea or morning coffee. The views...

Our guests wanted to see the sea when we went out to lunch today so we drove to Lyme Regis and had a Sunday Lunch at the Alexandra Hotel. The first bonus was being able to park in the hotel car park - perfect! We were given a warm welcome at Reception and shown into the very pretty and elegant...

My friend and I hadn't booked, but we managed to get the last room available. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The hotel has beautiful grounds overlooking the sea. It's nicely furnished and decorated. We had an excellent evening meal in the restaurant but the breakfast was very disappointing. The eggs were over cooked and the use of thin sliced...

We booked a weekend stay in October to celebrate a special wedding anniversary. We had to have a Peek room (room 16) for the first night, which was located on the second floor, directly above the front entrance and car park, with views across the roof tops of Lyme. The room was small, only just bigger than the bed, and...

This hotel is very lovely. Our view of Lyme Bay was gorgeous. The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was great. We enjoyed cream tea every afternoon on the garden lawn overlooking the bay. I'll definitely go back.

The Alexandra really was a most perfect place to stay. I have always wanted to visit Lyme Regis and the Cobb so the Alexandra was the perfect choice. A genuinely luxurious hotel in every way. Friendly and helpful staff, always available. Breakfast abundant and the three course dinner delicious. Cosmopolitan cocktail at the bar so good I had to have...

Stayed in room 26 which did have terrific views, comfortable bed and bathroom with all the nice stuff like soft robes and lovely products. Be warned though it's up a number of staircases and at the end of windy corridors. Best bits were the lovely staff and great breakfasts. Dinner menu was fine but not exciting and the dining too....

Dear larry s Thank you for writing your review concerning your recent stay with us at the Alexandra. I am very sorry to read that you feel your anniversary was spoilt with us and I have certainly passed on your feedback regarding breakfast to our Head Chef. I do however feel it is necessary and only fair to mention that...

Stayed at the Alexandra a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was really looking forward to being here again. From the minute we arrived we noticed something had changed. The staff was inexperienced, our room was damp and noisy being next to a public alleyway, and the amenities were sparse. The restaurant was just satisfactory. The surroundings of the...
