Our last night in Cornwall. Padstow was the closest place with places to eat with the dogs allowed in. We chose The Old Ship Hotel. We'd been for coffee earlier in the week and checked out the menu then. It looked interesting and varied. So return we did. My wife had one of the specials, baked plaice and risotto. I...

Just spent two nights at The Old Ship, we arrived to a friendly greeting although we had missed food, the kitchen closed at 9pm. Slightly annoying given the five hour journey. The 2nd Floor room was clean, but quite tired and in need of a bit of TLC. Woken up on Saturday morning at 5am to the sound of bottles...

Sunday evening is not usually a good time to find decent food in a pub! Here, the staff were helpful and the menu available was varied. 2 of us had the fish which was really tasty and fresh. 1 of our party had the vegetarian loaf, which was reported as very good. I had the lamb - which was fine...

We stayed for 2 nights in Room 14. after finding the car park and somewhere to park entered reception and was pleasantly greeted by a lad with glasses (can't remember the name sorry!) throughout our stay he was always on top of things and seemed an integral part of the hotel & pub. The room was old fashioned, but in...

Called in for lunch and sat outside in a dog friendly sunny courtyard. We enjoyed very tasty wraps a hot fish with tartare sauce and a cold prawn with mayo. Excellent value for money in a lovely old building. Very friendly staff as well :)

Stayed here two nights as a base to explore the Padstow and Port Isaac area. In that respect it's great, ideally placed within Padstow and with parking (albeit on a hill at the end of a series of nightmare allys). Needs a spruce up though, rooms are dated and carpets are old for the price. Service is great though.

Stayed overnight and had no qualms at all. Room big and clean, but unfortunately not much of a view. Perfect spot in the middle of Padstow with parking included in the price. Didn't eat here apart from breakfast, which was ok nothing special.

We have been here for lunch 3 times in the past few months. The first visit was pretty positive with the food freshly cooked and delicious if a trifle expensive.(Well its Padstow so expect prices to be higher). The 2 following visits were extremely disappointing. Fish and chips in Padstow should be a wonderful and plentiful. It's a fishing port...

We picked the Ship hotel for its location in Padstow and also because it had free parking. We did find it tricky to find the car park to the hotel- due to little narrow streets and perhaps our directions could have been a bit better- but nothing to do with the hotel. we found the car park which was above...
