I visited after a coastal walk. The menu looked reasonably interesting if somewhat overpriced.I ordered pea soup, which when it came, was a huge bowl full, with no accompanying bread. It was tepid but tasteless, over thick and seemingly liquidised peas with no evidence of stock, seasoning or herbs.A rather incongruous bed crumbed egg was immersed in the soup. Needless to say I left it barely touched.Any...

Me and my partner stayed here for two nights. The setting was lovely, half a mile from port Isaac which was great. We are here the first night and we both felt the food wasn't particularly nice. The soup I ordered was lovely and tasty but it came In a huge bowl and was a little sickly so I didn't...

Stayed here for just one night (wish it could have been longer)! The staff made us and our dog feel very relaxed and welcome from the minute we arrived. The manager Chris was particularly attentive, and charming, and really made us feel at ease. We had a lovely room overlooking the sea, which was particularly rough and choppy on our...

Our annual trip! New owners, but some of the old staff. Chris, who manages the hotel with panache, is always there to help and make one welcome. We love sitting in the bar with our two dogs, and at lunch today I think there were seven dogs in the bar. Relaxed friendly and great fun. We were surprised to find...

Our group stayed here as part of our walk around the fabulous SW Coast Path. We were treated to luxurious rooms, top food and friendly and accommodating staff. Just couldn't have enjoyed our stay more in this quirky old bulding. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A great two night stay in a stunning little cosy hotel. A very clean, sparkling place with quaint rooms. All essentials supplied. The most gorgeous staff who just can not do enough for you. The highlight must be the food, absolutely scrummy. All menu items were generously portioned, fresh and perfectly prepared with individuality. We must return.

Booked the restaurant for 18 of us for our Christmas Party and also booked a number of rooms for some of our guests. From the time we arrived the hospitality and service was excellent. Thanks to Chris and Jackie who ensured the night ran without a hitch, Sue on the bar and the waiting staff who were first class. The...

Have drank in this pub several times over the years and enjoyed the feel of the place and the setting. Staying in Port Issac gave us the chance to have an evening meal. The atmosphere is still great and the place was very busy. After being shown to our table we had to wait some time to order our food....

My family and I have been visiting Port Isaac/Port Gaverne every year for the last 10 years and this pub/hotel has changed considerably. There was a time when you could sit at the bar and chat with a fisherman or even a Fisherman's Friend but it appears that the locals have voted with their feet. The new landlords have invested...
