We took the dinner bed and breakfast deal available in January and February. The food was fabulous and hotel decor is beautiful - kind of traditional English style. Love the snug room looking on to the little market square and it is really cosy with log fire on. The staff were all really hands on, multi tasking working in restaurant...

The staff and ambience were spot on . We moved to another table for our coffee. All in all very good and they...

The bar and restaurant is very impressive. A great room with original features. 4 of us went for Sunday lunch on the 5th February. The starters and main courses were outstanding. Mussels and garlic mushrooms. Two of us has the Roast sirloin and 2 had Duck stirfry, all delicious. We were all disappointed with the puds. The bread and butter...

I love this hotel! First of all, the Royal is decorated beautifully, it is glam without being stuffy and has an informal country house feel. It is great all year round but especially on a cold winters's day, coming in off Main Street to a roaring fire in the snug. Secondly, the staff are simply outstanding! I want to thank...

A Christmas present from the kids. A night away in the Lake District. No cooking and have a relaxing week-end. The Royal is right in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale. It does not have its own car park so if you want to park free you need to find the church where you can park outside. Alternatively you can park...

Service was excellent, food outstanding, the bar, lounge and snug were cozy and friendly, rooms clean and good quality, shower amazing. If like us however you are planning a long busy day walking and plan to turn in early then maybe avoid room 5 as it sits directly above the bar, not brilliant for light sleepers. Also bed has a...

Love this place when visiting the lakes, set in a quaint Street, gorgeous decor, lovely food and wine, haven't stayed overnight as of yet as always booked up, well worth dropping in for a meal, drink or coffee.

Lovely stay for a quick getaway. Stayed one evening on a Sunday in room 6 - excellent.large room and lovely bathroom with bath and shower. Only small issue was the creaky floorboards above but it didn't bother us at all. Great service at the bar, took in afternoon tea, couple of drinks and a lovely meal at night. Great value...
