Such pleasant staff and enjoyable Xmas atmosphere provided at The Bear, lovely warm rooms, great breakfasts and evening meals for reasonable costs - excellent value for money. The Bear is close to all amenities and easy short walk into town. Well done Hungerford for your wonderful Xmas efforts and friendly shop keepers, hope you all made good profits from your...

Calling in Hungerford on business we were advised this hotel was adequate and worth a visit. It was and as it is part of the the Bear public house and restaurant was and ideal choice. The rooms are tastefully decorated however the ones in the actual public house can be a little noisy from the road just outside and the...

Some rooms appear to be more or less archetypical hotel rooms while others have their own little quirks, although they all have the basic requirements, it's the little extras that can make it interesting. People who have trouble with stairs should of course ask for a downstairs room. The food is excellent although in common with just about every hotel...

We had a lovely experience on arrival and the reception was excellent. Our room was on Bear Island so involved a little walk away form the main building. The room was clean and tidy but small as was the TV which I couldn't see if over the other side if the room. Tea and coffee facilities were good and a...

No central heating and they couldn't turn it on because the manager wasn't present. It was was the 29th September!. They supplied a small heater when asked....

Stayed for a weekend, and initially all looked ok-ish, Pleasant welcome at reception , plenty of parking space and an OK room. However I found the hotel really wanting , especially in the bar and restaurant department. I was on a workshop and the meal breaks needed to be swiftly executed to keep us on track ..they were not !!...

Nice old building but the transformation to a hotel hasn't quite worked to get the comfort you would expect from a decent establishment. The first room was in an out building, which had a pitched roof and low beams so you could only walk around by bending over. It was cold with loud creaky floors, was very dark with no...
