We stayed in the punta sur in August, and like ourselves, the hotel was taken up mainly by families with children. I have to say, it was a bit pricey, but it was fully booked - with many returning guests - so I suppose if the market's willing to pay, and I do understand that it's only in peak season... More

I just spent a week at Punta Sur with 2 friends. The hotel was perfect, very friendly and helpful staff, large rooms and nice garden. We did not have a chance to test the restaurant for dinner but the breakfast was always very good. The hotel is not directly at the beach, so you need a car or bike to... More

On the main road from Tarifa to Cadiz, there is Punta Sur. Restaurant is very good, pool ditto, staff is very professional, helpful and nice. Rooms are so so - big, air-conditioned, but lacking in feel, atmosphere. It is quiet, close to great beaches (you need the car to get to nice beaches, but can get to a beach on... More

Punta Sur exceded our expectation. It is a lovely family friendly hotel, located right next to the world famous kiteboard and surf spot Valdevaqueros. Rooms are relatively big, clean and cosy. The restaurant is one of the best in town. Staff super friendly, ready to help you with everything. Hotel is located a 10 minute drive from the old town.... More

Beautiful hotel with lovely relaxed atmosphere and a bit quirky to fit in with Tarifa! Lovely large pool area giving privacy and space for all. The standard rooms are excellent- very spacious and big beds giving a great nights sleep. Restaurant was the only disappointed. Great menu but under delivered on quality and that was all six dishes we ordered... More

We wanted an out of town hotel near the beach and picked this one. It didn't really work out that well. The beach was very difficult to access from the hotel, closed off by a wire fence. The hotel grounds were very attractive and quite well maintained and there was a lovely large pool so we felt that we could... More

We had a great time staying at the Punta Sur in May. We were slightly put off by some of the pictures on Tripadvisor, but it's actually lovely - the gardens are very lush and our son very much enjoyed running around in them and admiring the peacocks. The pool was also very impressive and clean (and cold!). Our room... More

We stayed in room 22 right by the pool. Good size rooms, clean but quite damp (maybe because the weather wasn't great!) you need a car to get around anywhere!! Dinner was lovely, breakfast was okay - no hot food. Peacock kept us awake most nights (apparently it was mating season!)

Overall - a disaster!!! We booked for 3 nights but left after 1 - we would have left immediately but we got there too late at night to do so. Maybe at age 22 with a backpack this hotel is ok, but no one else should ever consider this place. Rooms are musty, grounds are unkempt; muddy beach is across... More

We too stayed at the Punta Sur during one of the wettest periods ever recorded in this part of Andalucia. The bedroom, which felt and smelled damp as soon as we entered, never warmed up in spite of having the heating on day and night. The bathroom was vast and freezing. The only respite to be found from our dank and depressing room...
