From the moment we entered till the moment we left we were attentively looked after. The receptionist brought tea to our room which was beautifully clean and spacious with a very generous four poster bed. Dinner was excellent and the wine list extensive. My only adverse comment would be the toast at breakfast was shop bought sliced bread. We only...

I like to think of myself as a bit of a foodie, not the snobby this wine from this vine goes with this cheese, but more of a, this is a well balanced meal in nice surroundings, good service good wine type, good service erc, but I experienced nothing of this here. This hotel/house/Garrison, offers an initially inviting sign as regards...

We stayed in Newport House for two nights. We were cycling the Greenway and this was an excellent base for us. The welcome was warm and we were shown to our room which had a huge four poster bed. It has to be one of the most comfortable beds we had ever slept on. The house is real old style...

Newport House Hotel is a beautiful Georgian house on the banks of the Newport River. It is an old fashioned Irish fishing hotel which has the rights to the Newport river and Loch Beltra. In the past its famous sea trout fishing made it a prized destination for European fishermen. It has fallen into hard times as the destruction of...

An amazing building and truly one of a kind. It is a little dated and could really do with a lot of money spending on it. The staff however are all amazing, everybody is incredibly friendly which more than makes up for the decor. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked but we understand from locals the dinners are amazing. The...

Newport House is a treasure. For a couple of Yanks from Oregon, it is a delightful memory, and a glimpse of a way of life we will savor for years to come. Mr. Thompson, the owner, is a delight, as is Catherine, who so graciously welcomed us to the marvelous old house. Recommended to me by an English friend as...

We stayed two nights in this very old fishing lodge in an enormous double room with a 4-poster bed. The food was of high quality served in a formal dining room, both breakfasts and dinner. The service was extremely slow. The staff were extremely accommodating. The wine cellar was extensive, though we did not partake. The decor of the hotel...

An attractive country house in need of updating. The shower leaked onto the floor and the toilet was poor.Towels and robes old and worn. The breakfast was surprisingly poor given other reviews. The fruit platter consisted of inedible fruit - old and tasteless. I also had to go and ask for tea which would have otherwise arrived with the cooked breakfast.Breakfast would...

Exceptional service and top quality food ,superbly presented and served . The traditional menu complimented the Country House setting , all four of us enjoyed the dinning experience and agreed it's well worth a return visit . If you are in the area of Newport House just go .
