The room was spotless but the style felt very dated. Just needs a bit of an update to hit modern standards expected. Breakfast was delicious the our host was very courteous. We didn't have the noise problem that other reviews mentioned.

I stayed for a night here while walking the greenway between westport and Achill. The room was spotless and the beds were comfy. It's a noisy bnb so bring some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The bathrooms are basic enough. It's a comfy nights stay but nothing fancy. At €35 per person you can't argue with it....

Our family stayed at the Anchor House last week for three nights. We wish we could have stayed longer. The home was very well appointed, quiet, and close to town. Maureen was amazing, friendly but very busy working to accommodate everyone! Great value for your money. A wonderful example of the friendly folks in Ireland.

Newport is little town of immediate appeal. Sat outside the Blue Bicycle Cafe (highly recommended) enjoying a coffee whilst ringing round for a place to stay. Anchor House was just 2 minutes walk down by the river where Maureen was so welcoming & informative. Excellent bedroom & breakfast, everything just so clean & pleasant. Lots of wonderful countryside to explore...

This is the best B&B I stayed at while traveling through Ireland. Maureen is a very kind and hospitable woman, and made our stay very pleasant. The room and house was very clean and very comfortable! Her breakfast in the morning was delicious, and she was very helpful when we had any questions regarding our stay or the country. Overall...

This is a brilliant b&b. Maureen, the owner is very hospitable. The accommodation is superb, excellent for comfort, tranquility and cleanliness. The view from the bedroom is wonderful. We enjoyed our stay with great breakfasts and we had use of the sitting room for watching tv and the kitchen for making tea. We highly recommend this fabulous b&b
