Stayed here for Valentine's night. Delightful 6 course meal beautifully cooked and presented. Service was just right - friendly and efficient. Paul made us very welcome and our bedroom was a thing of beauty. Sometimes you hope for a special night with all the right touches and are disappointed. You will certainly not be disappointed here. We have found somewhere...

I recently visited Ghan house for dinner and was a bit disappointed. The set menu is quite pricey but the quality of dish did not meet the price point. The atmosphere was really great and its a beautiful building and sitting. Staff were excellent and accommodating. The meal took over 2.25 hours from initial order until dessert was completed -...

We live less than 20 miles form this place and it was on my list to try it. Well it took me 10 years but last weekend we spent a night there. We had an upstairs room, on the annex, and while this is a new part of the building I was not disappointed. Room 8 lovely and cosy, with...

We booked an overnight on a Saturday having sourced the venue from the Blue Book Hotels Guide. The House itself is fine but it is clear that some sort of investment is necessary. Torn wall paper, overloaded sockets, chipped paint work all take away from the quaintness of the House and not add to it. Two chaise long sofas in...

Thank you for what you consider an honest appraisal of your stay here. We do not pretend to be a boutique, glossed facsimile of a genuine listed Georgian house. I think the previous reviews to yours and my responses really sum up all that we have to offer and that most of our guests enjoy. As expressed previously we are...

Wonderful location for walks, exploring boutiques and local history. We were there on Thursday and Friday nights. Tasting menu on first night (available Mid week) and a la carte Friday. Quality, presentation and taste all first class. Service friendly. 3 doubles and one single in main house. Well appointed. Old fashioned hospitality. Go and enjoy.

I've been recommending Ghan House and Carlingford to anyone who'll listen since my two night break there. It does all the important stuff well: comfortable bed, crisp linen, large bathroom and great shower; excellent breakfast and outstanding dinner in a glorious setting. And welcoming friendly hospitality. What sets it apart is the location: Carlingford is a delightful surprise with history,...

You stayed in one of our garden bedrooms with views of Slieve Foy mountain - just 10 yards to the side of us - thank you for taking the time to write & saying how much you enjoyed yourself on your return. And yes, there are probably about 250 aspects of everything you experience during your stay here that needs...

Had heard a friend gush about this place for years, so decided to book 1 night as a brief getaway from Belfast in the lead up to Xmas. We would definitely return thanks to the location, friendly but non-intrusive service, and good intent of the staff. It is by no means a flawless property. If you prefer the perfection of...

From the moment I stepped into my room where music was playing, until I got back into the car to go home, I felt so relaxed amd welcome at Ghan House. Thank you for returning Fiona - it's the most common attribute guests associate with us - 'relaxing'. Most important, as you say, is to have a 'really comfortable bed' - sets you up for the day! I'm glad you enjoyed all that we have to offer - our welcome, being friendly & helpful, a 'gorgeous 4 course dinner & breakfast',...

We took over Ghan house for a wedding and it was superb. A beautiful house in a serene setting. The staff were friendly and efficient, thanks especially to Paul and Orla. The food was delicious.
