Stayed here on a recent Friday night. Room was dingy, bed was cheap and badly dressed. The floorboards creaked and the bathroom was tiny. Service downstairs was slow, after they finally appeared and the Irish breakfast was dripping in oil. The only good thing about the experience was that it was cheap. Stay in the Shearwater half a mile away.

To call Hayden's a dump is being nice! This flea pit excuse of a hotel needs to be torn down and built again from the ground up! The lobby smells and the cafeteria style restaurant is disgusting. Where is the department of health and why is this place still open?????

Called here for lunch and was very pleasantly suprised with the choice available in the carvery. The service was quick the portions good the quality excellent and the price very reasonable. Decor is a little tired but it has been in business a very long time so they must be doing something right. We will defintely calling again.

Very nice and luxurious looking when you walk in the place, they seem slightly under staffed seeing that the girl at the counter was doing her job in receiving guests but if you wanted a drink at the bar or sit in the lounge (very nice foyer) she had to man the bar as well. Hotel was old as you...

I have just returned from a two-day visit to Ballinasloe where we stayed at Hayden's Hotel in Dunlo Street - a hotel which has seen a dismal drop in business since its hey-day at the end of the last century. It was ridiculously cheap - €40 per night single occupancy, which was half what the other hotels in the town...

Hayden's was always a hotel we stopped at when travelling from Dublin to Connemara in the 1970s, so it was with a little nostalgia that we stopped for lunch. The visit didn't last long as the hotel failed to impress from the scruffy and dirty exterior to the smell of the toilets that invaded the sitting area near the reception...
