This is a lovely hotel, very clean and well equipped with its own Spa and cinema. The restaurant offered a fantastic menu selection for an evening meal with an additional set menu to help with the budget. Breakfast, on offer was a wide selection of hot and cold foods to set you up nicely for a day of exploring. If...

The breakfast buffet is good because there are free waffles and biscuits. When the rooms are cleaned they leave chocolates on the bed which is really good and nice. The views from the restaurant are excellent.

Lovely hotel with great views over the river. There is a wake up service for when the northern lights appear, to save you staying up half the night. Also the side of the river bank or clise to the church is a good place for viewing them. The staff are very helpful. The breakfast was a good mix. Would highly...

The restaurant in the Hotel Selfoss was so good that we drove 2 hours each way to go back again the next week. The service is a little slow, by American standards, but that's the case everywhere we went in Iceland. The restaurant overlooks a waterfront park. The hotel lobby is elegant and the front desk staff are efficient and...

A hotel that's located on the banks of a small winding river where you can enjoy views at sunrise and sunset and of course, if you are lucky, the aurora borealis. There is a restaurant-cum-bar onsite where you can have an excellent meal and enjoy half-price Icelandic beer during happy hour. The reception staff on check-in was friendly, professional and...

We were very fortunate to sight the aurora borealis just at the back of this hotel by the river! The front desk staff was great, informing everyone who passes by his desk about the appearance of Aurora!! The hotel is very comfortable! Tea & coffee with kettle in room for a quick cuppa in the morning. Always warm indoors, so...

The hotel is smart and clean, the restaurant, bar and spa are modern and stylish. The furniture and room decor was a little dated in comparison however our room over looked the river and had stunning views over to the mountains in the distance and up the river across the bridge. The facilities were good with everything we needed for...

Absolutely stunning view from the restaurant, right on the river and it snowed whilst we were here which was great. Breakfast wasn't amazing but it filled us up, Skyr with the fruit compote was my favourite. Rooms were clean, bit out dated but extremely comfortable, although VERY hot! A must try is the restaurant across the road, best lamb I've...

Room was lovely, very spacious and well appointed. The room was clean and looked out onto the river. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were lovely too. The food was really good. The only down was breakfast was a bit chaotic due to the large number of guests.

A clean, well designed hotel at the crossroads of Selfoss. Good base for touring, eg Golden Circle, and east. Don't stay in Reykjavik; I suggest going right from the airport to this hotel. Rooms are clean and functional and attractive. Breakfast is the standard Icelandic hotel buffet, but perhaps one step up from the average you encounter. Lovely dining room...
