Just got back from a vacation in Iceland. The Hotel Grimsborgir was one of the nicest hotels that we stayed in on our trip. Beyond the most incredible Mushroom Soup and wonderful food in the dining room. Beyond the spotlessly clean rooms. Beyond one of the best locations to view the Northern Lights. This hotel did me a favor that...

We spent two nights last August at the Grimborgir hotel in Selfoss. Great location, in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are nicely decorated (furniture from Ikea, simple but confortable and clean), the beds very confortable, little private terrace in front of each room. The food (buffet in the morning and in the evening) is really excellent. The choice of...

Our last 3 nights in Iceland were spent in this wonderful hotel in the country about an hour plus outside of Reykjavik. The rooms were adequate and amenities good but wifi was sluggish. The dining area of the main building where smaller buildings and some bungalows were situated around. They had a shuttle that function from 8 to 8 after...

A wonderful 2-night stay at Grimsborgir in one of their superior double rooms. Of our 8 nights in Iceland, this was definitely our most luxurious stay. The rooms are modern, tasteful and well-appointed, with great bathrooms and small decked balconies. Surprisingly, the tv offered UK channels, presumably for their many British guests. The young guy who checked us in on...

We arrived at the hotel early so was not expecting our room to be ready. Unfortunately a large party were due in and all efforts appeared to be diverted to this but the receptionist was most apologetic. 40 minutes after allocated check in we were directed to our suite and WOW what a lovely surprise a beautiful room. The staff...

Hotel Grimsborgir is a beautiful, well appointed hotel with rooms and apartments that are detached from the restaurant and reception area. This is a perfect spot for travellers with their own cars and great for groups that want to stay in the shared luxury apartment accommodation. It is in a great location outside of the city area and a great...

We have just come back from Iceland and spent 3 nights at Hotel Grimsborgir with our two children, aged 9 and 5. We stayed in the 4 bedroom apartment, which was enormous! It was furnished to a very high standard throughout and we loved the hot tub, which was used every night whatever the weather. Its a great location for...

Driving down a snowy icy road on a sunny afternoon looking out for the hotel was the start to a wonderful three night stay. The layout of the hotel is like a mini village, very mini, with long single story tastefully designed buildings scattered behind the main building which houses the reception bar and restaurant. Each building has a small...

We spent three nights here in early February. Everything about the hotel is great and with more focus on customer service we would have given them five stars. As it is we give them four and a half. The staff are friendly and the food in the restaurant excellent Icelandic cuisine. But our room was not cleaned when we returned...

We have recently come back from spending 3 nights at the Hotel Grimsborgir, and fully enjoyed our stay. All staff encountered were extremely friendly, including the reception staff and waitresses. Hana at dinner was particularly friendly and helpful. One morning we asked about shop opening times and before we knew it, a member of reception had printed off a map...
