We didn't stay at this hotel, but stopped for lunch while touring the Golden Circle. The food was delicious -- they have full menu and a full bar. Very friendly service. The best part -- the ice cream! It's a very fun stop!

It was very convenient to the golden circle and many activities. It was clean but nothing fancy. There were not enough towels. The owners are extremely nice but for very little extra trouble they may want to provide soap and extra towels.

This was by far one of my favorite parts of our trip. My husband and I stayed here overnight during our road trip around Iceland. The cabins were so quaint and unexpectedly delightful. At night, it's very serene and peaceful. Unfortunately, we didn't see the Northern Lights. From the cafe area, you can see the cows. The breakfast was delish-...

We opted to stay here for the night in one of the cozy little cabins (they have ten that are contiguous, but with individual entrances, each opening onto a deck). But it's worth a day trip just for the ice cream and food, both tasty and excellent values. It's perfectly located near Gullfoss and Geysir, so if you're planning on...

we stopped her on our way back from the Geysers for some refreshments. They have excellent home made ice-creams. This is a working farm and all the cows and horses are right around you. They also have rooms available, I think it might be fun to stay there as the country side is so incredible.

I love stays at unusual places and this qualified even though it also turned out to have a good restaurant, charming rooms looking down towards the countryside, great ice cream, lots of horses, and an evening local crowd in the ice cream section watching the France-Portugal soccer match! It's a large farm, standing all alone as usual, with a long...

We did not stay at the hotel. We just stopped in for lunch. The food was very delicious. I had the John Deere Sandwich--- local lamb with peppers, onions, mushrooms on bread with fries. Everyone in our group LOVED their food. It was made from excellent ingredients, clean and attractive presentation. They know what they are doing! Several people in...

If you're touring the Golden Circle, be sure to stop by for the fresh ice cream. Try the licorice ice cream on a homemade waffle cone. It was wonderful! Seeing the working dairy farm is also really cool.

We stayed here when we visited Golden Circle area. The hotel rooms are clean but quite small. The hotel staffs here are really friendly, maybe they are the friendliest I've ever met in Iceland! We love this hotel, but we were very unfortunate that there was a lot of midges during our stay and it's quite annoying. Maybe you should...

Excellent customer service at this quaint little farm hotel. Rooms are located in smaller a cabin like building. They aren't huge but definitely adequate and cozy. Tea and coffee with a little water heater is in each room. On site at the main reception area they have an excellent farm to table restaurant serving burgers, lamb, and even salads. At...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a family run business that offer comfortable stays in the Icelandic country side. We offer rooms with great views over the valley and are right in the middle of the Golden Circle route. We also offer a summer time horse rental with trips to a local waterfall, as well as our farm to table restaurant and coffee shop with home made ice-creams. Here people can see into our dairy and watch the cows whilst they eat the products that come from them. Everyone is welcome to stop by here at Efstidalur for a taste of the traditional Icelandic farm life. ... more   less
