As with everything in Iceland expensive and minimalistic. Didn't bode well when we were checked in to an I cleaned room but this was promptly rectified even though the receptionist attitude suggested this wasn't an unusual occurence. However good location to set off for our ring road adventure. Looks like a stack of portocabins and when we arrived signage was...

The hotel was clean, modern and close to Skaftafell. The staff were all in uniforms and friendly. They provided northern light call service. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel which were delicious with reasonable price. Also, we enjoyed our half price beer during happy hour.

The hotel provides wake up service for Aurora but which you have to register your room with them and also ask them about it if they did not inform you during check-in, which happened to us. Nobody told us during check in and we only knew about it when we went back to reception to make a dinner reservation and...

The hotel was clean and comfortable and satisfied our needs. It is remote in location but well positioned to experience Vatnajökull National Park and Reynisfjara Beach. It is nothing to look at from the outside, boxy in appearance and looking like multiple portable school rooms linked together. It is much nicer on the inside. The rooms are minimalist, small, and...

This place was perfect for our South Iceland adventure. After hours of driving and exploring ice caves, glaciers, and waterfalls, the Fosshotel provided us the comfort to help us unwind. Beautiful views of the Icelandic landscape from our hotel room and we even saw the Northern Lights! There are plenty of signs on the highway telling you where the hotel...

We knew that the Fosshotel Nupar was going to be very simple with minimal amenities. What we didn't expect was a hotel completely under construction. The parking lot is a mud mess. Park anywhere you want away from the bobcats. The entrance was blocked off and you walked through a propped open guest room. The beds were comfy and the...

The hotel is located right by Road 1, makes it very easy to locate. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast spread was good and sumptuous! A lovely place to wind down after a day of driving. The hotel has a serving kitchen for dinner, albeit on the expensive side. So a little tip if you are on budget, is...

Stayed with friends when we were in southern Iceland visiting Jokulsarlon and Skaftafell, rooms had all we needed, warm, comfortable and clean, we were lucky enough to see the northern lights, though they were spilt a little be some guest leaving their room lights on and curtains open. We didn't eat in the evening in the hotel but breakfast buffet...

Our second night was quiet yet riveting. We enjoyed the country feel to being so far out from the city with no one around you for miles. We saw the Northern Lights dancing but were showing in a sparkling grey color instead of green. Rooms- Very basic but had what you needed and were nice and clean. Shower was extremely...

Location: about 20-30 min drive from Kirkjubaejarklaustur (also the nearest town with gas station), and it’s good for those doing the glacier / ice caves at Skaftafell the next day. The entrance is easy to miss during winter due to snow, so drive slowly when approaching the hotel. Rooms: Nordic minimal and small, but clean and comfortable. Rooms had a...
