This is a lovely hotel on the lakeshore. You can just walk down the drive and across the road if you want to get something from the supermarket or go to one of the few restaurants in town. The breakfast was very comprehensive. The staff were very friendly. We had a lovely room overlooking the lake side. You may get...

We stayed here for 1 night whilst touring around Iceland. The hotel has recently been refurbished, the room was of a high quality with excellent facilities. Free wifi was available throughout. There was a nice lounge area to enjoy a pre dinner drink. The menu in the restaurant was good and the actually food served was excellent, the best we...

We loved this hotel. Clean and comfortable, with a wide range of breakfast choices. Located on the lake with a nice deck, or lounge with windows looking at the lake through the trees. There is a spa with sauna, hot tub and cold plunge pool, which we did not try (additional charge.) Staff is friendly and helpful.

The original, as in first, farmhouse in Egilsstadir is now a very comfortable hotel. We were greeted warmly, and indeed all the staff were very friendly. We stayed in the new wing, overlooking the lake in a bedroom that was a really good size, with bathroom to match. The bar area was comfortable and cosy, and the dining room buzzy...

Overnighted whilst touring the country on route 1. Rooms as expected but great lovation for venturing out. Went into town for dinner - just a short walk and drove up into the hills to watch the Northern Lights. Ended up watching the Northern Lights from the car park of the hotel as they were all around us.

Very comfortable hotel. We stayed in the new wing. The room was furnished very well, comfortable bed, clean and airy with a great view of the lake. Staff were friendly and polite. Dinner, as always, is expensive, but there are cheaper alternatives a short walk away in the town. Breakfast was very good, with hot scrambled egg, sausage and beans...

Traveling in Northern Iceland in style will be mostly disappointing...Hotels are either frugally outfitted containers, old (farm)houses ore modern concrete shoeboxes. Service is virtually nonexisting, restaurants feed and charge (better the other way around) ...This Guesthouse does deserve its name: a comfortable hotel, good decor, international staff with some professional touch (unseen in the countryside before), very good cuisine and...

This Guesthouse is a smallish, three story building and appears to be a small Manor, set next to a wood-lined lake. This guesthouses blends the charm of the old-world exterior and memorabilia lined lobby-bar area, with clean, modern rooms, and gourmet food. Pros: 1. Clean, modern rooms, all of which have a veiw- even ours, which faced the parking lot...

Staffs are friendly. So far the best breakfast I ever had through out this trip! Many choices. Rooms are clean and modern. Wifi was a little week but manageable. Close to gas station and supermarket ( in walking distance) Highly recommended!
