Stayed there once before. Hotel has a lot of charm. Stayed in room 6, very large, comfortable and Victorian. Bath is large but not very user friendly. Only complaint is the price and the extreme local sales tax.
This hotel will really pamper you, from the comfortable beds, stocked mini fridge, jacuzzi tub, healthy continental breakfast, bathrobes, free parking, etc. All of this in a quaint, cool, Victorian setting with HUGE rooms. You will love this hotel and we will definitely be back.
We loved the stay, and the staff were great. We will definitely be back. Stair access to parking lot in rear may be challenging for older visitors, but didn't bother us at all. Covered gazebo on staircase leading to parking lot in rear great spot to spend outdoors.
We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at the Palace. The Victorian architecture was beautiful. The spa tub in the room as fantastic. Also, the breakfast delivered to your room was a very classy touch. It was also very nice to be within walking distance of all of the shops and restaurants. We didn't use the car again until it was time to leave! The staff was so friendly. We definitely recommend! A++
The Palace staff are excellent -- very cooperative and helpful. Older people should avoid the second floor. The stairs are steep (no elevator), spa tubs can be treacherous -- too dee, located in the center of the room, so no walls or handrails. Getting in and out of the tub is difficult and taking a shower is next to impossible. No restaurant, so breakfast is served in your room at a small, uncomfortable table, allegedly from 8 to 10 am, but getting served at 8am is a good trip. In summation, if you're a young person who wants to spend the day in the tub or in a large bathtub and eat breakfast in the middle of the day. If you're an older person, maybe not so much.
