My wife and I stayed here for several days several years ago and our stay there is still one of our fondest memories. Atmosphere, surroundings, service, food, wine (!!) everything was memorable. We stayed in the one of the buildings surrounding the main building and found it very comfortable. We also took advantage of the dinner being served in the... More

Great owners, very welcoming. Area is superb, quiet, great views, you will get a good night sleep for sure. Very friendly staff, even more friendly cat - Mignette is a joy, and not intrusive at all if you are not a cat person. Highly recommend the place, my husband and I throughly enjoyed it. Good and genuine people own this... More

We have had limited experience with chambre d'hotes and our stay here would encourage us to be open to this type of travel. This one is made up of buildings attached to the actual Chateau de Messey. It is located just to the west of Ozenay and is signposted from the main road. Our host, Marcus, is very friendly and... More

Beautiful place - tranquil and idyllic. The proprietor Markus gave us a very warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and he made us feel very 'at home'. We just happened to be the only guests there that evening and he prepared an evening meal for us and set the table with roses and candles! The food was delicious too.... More

We booked the room with the small kitchenette available for 4 nights to suit our needs of cooking our food purchased at various local village markets and wines from the Macon area. The room was on two levels with the main bedroom being quite large and well equipped bathroom. Overall our accommodations were very cosy, relaxing and comfortable. We enjoyed... More

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but our stay at Chateau de Messey a few weeks ago was so impressively wonderful that I feel somehow that it would be wrong of me not to share it with others. We stayed at Chateau de Messey for 3 nights in between some time skiing in the Alps and some time in... More

We booked an overnight stay here on our way home from skiing in the Alps. Our two families were accommodated in a two story apartment adjacent to the house. The furniture was a bit dated and the towels could've been bigger but we had everything we needed. We arrived quite late with a quick shower and change we went down... More

What a wonderful, inviting, charming place this is! We arrived without a reservation (while doing a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants road trip around France) and were greeted by Delphine at the Chateau. We got a room in the main house upstairs, with a comfortable king size bed and a good bathroom (with a French-style non-shower tub). The grounds are stunning and I may... More

We stayed at Chateau de Messey in May, 2013. We found it to be very charming. Loved the view from our room. Delphine was very helpful to us. She wrote down places that she thought we should see while in the area. It was a great road trip. Delphine also helped us on the best way to return our rental... More

We wanted a base in Burgundy to visit our daughter who works in the region. It is a beautiful region even if during our week long stay we were often denied its charms by the dint of the poor weather. Chateau de Messey is quite characterful but being situated in the low point of a valley it does not enjoy... More
