NO WATER...NO INTERNET...NO TV for 2 days. We planned for 6 nights and left in a hurry after 2. You MUST take a boat to this Hotel, but when we called the Hotel, they said there was no shuttle. We were forced to spend Q500 and then found out there WAS A SHUTTLE. We complained about BROKEN GLASS in the room and they sent up a broom and dust pan. Their shuttle is a disgrace, there are broken railings and paint splattered all over the bathroom. See the photos. When we checked in there were no towels, no pillows and no T-paper. We had an emergency at 3 am and THERE WAS NO WAY OF CONTACTING THEM. NO FRONT DESK AFTER 10 PM. Do not stay here!! The view of the lake and the mountains was amazing. There really was nothing else to enjoy. They advertise a beach which does not exist. They advertise water activities, but, there was no equipment to use. If you want to visit any other towns on the lake, it will cost you a minimum Q300 (about $40) each way..every day!

This place is isolated, lacking the minimum quality for any tourist than comes from abroad. It is a mess. The room was falling apart. We're booked a suite for 4 people with two rooms and to begin tne room did not have a door. Curtains were a joke, furniture of very bad materials, the bathroom also in very bad shape. For USD 100 it is non sense. I do not recommend this place to nobody. We packed and the morning after. Owners don't live in Guatemala and that is part of the problem. Lacks care and management

The good things were as follows: They will pick you up in a boat from San Antonio Palopo until 9pm, the staff are very nice and helpful and provide great service, its on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, the omelette is so nice i had it three times in two days. They have a kayak. Great garden. Are you ready for the bad news????? Cold shower and the boys could not repair it, T.V. wasn´t paid second day to cable company(We didn´t complain), cordon bleu had blood in the chicken, hence i stuck with the omelette, you can´t take very young children, its a death trap. It doesn´t have the classic two volcanoe view. The hotel is painted in a wishy washy yellow colour. Look this could be a great place but the owner lives in the USA. She does not want to know. It was peak season and on a Friday and Saturday on two rooms booked. No leadership

I visit this place in december with my friends, is very nice and peaceful. we enjoyed the moonrise and the sunset. is so quiet, You can hear the water. The restaurant doesn't have a exotic menu. For arrive you need used a boat. Therefore cannot go out at night for visit the village. It is necessary to take things you are going to need.

This hotel is quite an off-the-path little gem. Each room has a beautiful view of the lake and it is very quite. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite with a balcony overlooking the lake. Very attentive staff. We had an ant problem and they came immediately to take are of it! The beauty of this place is because it is so remote. You must private water taxi it to all of the major islands and you have to private water taxi back at night. These taxis can get pricey (especially at night). Also, it states "breakfast included" but it is for 1 person and only fruit and coffee. That is not explained anywhere and we ended up with a bill for breakfasts that was a bit of a surprise. Even thought it was written on our reservation "breakfast included" they did not honor it. In the end, it was a special experience and the staff was very nice. If you want night life or things to do at the hotel, this is not the place. If you want quiet ... this is it!

Thank you for your comments. They are very important to us. Regarding breakfast I'm going to look into it. Continental breakfast is courtesy of the hotel for all quests. I agree with you the water taxis can be expensive, this is why the hotel cover the cost of the boat when the quest check in and check out.. Right now we are in conversations with some companies to try to get better prices for the quests. The hotel is for a quest that want a place to relax and mingle with nature. We try very hard to keep the insects out of the rooms and 99% of the time we are successful but we need to realize that we are intruding in there natural habitat. Thank you again for your comments. Was a pleasure serve you.

I was invited to do a feng shui blessing for this property during the auspicious last weekend of February 2015. It was such an amazing experience to take the boat in the evening and be warmly welcomed by Angelica, Rut and Max. The dining area next to the kitchen was a wonderful place to hang out and watch the sunrise and sunsets while having breakfasts and dinners. The views are gorgeous! All the rooms have lovely views of Lake Atitlan! Our room had a balcony overlooking the dock and the main terrace; it was so peaceful and relaxing - much different than living in midtown NYC next to Penn Station! And my wife was inspired to paint the green forested mountains during sunset;-) Angelica treated us to her delicious cooking; homemade tortillas, black beans, rice and chicken and eggs were made differently every morning! We especially loved her handmade plaintains filled with sweet black bean paste filling....Mmmmmmm. And her sister, Rut, was so helpful with the cooking, serving and cleaning. My wife and I even played the card game Uno with them; it was so much fun. On Sunday, Angelica and Rut personally took us on a tour to Santiago Lake Atitlan - it was such an amazing trip with them!!! They took us via the local transportation - from the boat, onto a little tuk tuk, then onto the back of the pick-up truck with the locals hanging onto a bar from San Lucas to Santiago thru the winding hills and forests....what a thrilling experience! After visiting the Sunday morning church service, we also met with a shaman with Maximon, a diety who offered us protection and safety. The fun part was conversing with Angelica and Rut; they spoke very little English and we spoke very little Spanish. But, we got along famously with lots of laughs and handwritten notes of translation;-) And it was so sad + heartfelt when we had to leave La Villa de los Dioses. And Angelica was so considerate to call the car service at Panachel; if she did not do that, our boat could not dock near the our landing point. We will never forget our wonderful time at this gem of a hotel!

Thank you for your review. I have to agree with you. The staff at the hotel are unique. Angelica, Ruth, Fernando, Samuel and Chamus are very honest, loyal and they know how to treat a guest. And because I'm not at the hotel all the time supervising, I give them more credit, they know how to make decisions . As an owner I feel bless to have such a group of collaborators.

The location is beautiful and offers a quiet, private setting. Keep in mind there are no volcano views from the hotel due to being tucked into a little corner of the shore. Instead your view is of San Antonio Palopo and the hills behind (still beautiful)...and you can see the views from every room it would appear. We had a nice balcony off our room and there are very nice sitting areas throughout the well-manicured property. Service was very good and attentive. The only downside really is that the property seems just a tad worn for apparently how "new" it supposedly is, with drab sheets, hard beds, and not particularly plush anywhere. Basically, though, a nice location overall and pleasant/friendly staff. You can certainly do worse (or better) as far as accommodations around the lake.

This was the most amazing trip my husband and I have taken. We wanted complete relaxation and that is what we got! It was a little out of the way which may be an inconvenience for some, but we found it absolutely delightful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was authentic and tasty. We would recommend this hotel experience to all!
