This is the place to be if you want to relax. Lovely hostel with nice staff and owner. The room are clean and really big. More like a apartment. Bring groceries if you want to cook your own lunch and dinner. But you also have restaurants along the beach. And a great breakfast at the hostel! Best place in Ecuador!

I was just passing through and decided to grab breakfast. I recommend the breakfast burrito, but everything on the menu looked good. The Donkey Den has a nice view of the beach in a relaxing environment. Note: There are lot's of cats and some dogs, so factor that into your personal preferences.

Nice selection of food on the menu so you know that kids will find something they like. Good coffee. Staff from around the world are easy going and courteous. Great place to find folks traveling all over the world, that have good stories and can have a thoughtful conversation. If you like cats, dogs, good food and the chance to...

We arrived at the hostel and there was no electricity - hence no water nor wifi - for 24 hours while the place right next door had electricity. There was never hot water even when the electricity was back. There are dozens of cats and dogs who bark all night. Friendly owner.

We stayed for 5 nights. Had a lovely room with balconey and a stunning view of the sea. People collect from many parts of the world, many ages and backgrounds and share their travel stories downstairs over breakfast, or any other time. Pam makes sure we all behave, including the dogs and washing machines. Haha, we don´t sometimes. We loved...

The Donkey Den is a wonderful gathering place for people from around the world. The breakfasts a terrific and the conversations around a common table are quite lively. (Or you can choose a quaint private table to eat alone if you prefer.) English is spoken by all personnel, both management and the help. This is a huge plus for people...
