Just got home after a fantastic 2 night break with friends at The Wyvill Arms. Everything about it was superb: the friendly and attentive staff, the delicious food, the luxurious rooms. Excellent value for money, we will definitely be paying a return visit!

On arrival we had had a lovely warm welcome from the Lady of the House who showed us our delightful room on the ground floor. Very spacious with a King Size bed and a glorious bathroom with overhead shower, large white fluffy towels and toiletries. Immaculately clean throughout with the glass partition in the bathroom so clean I nearly walked... More

From the outside approaching the Wyvill I was a bit concerned that this anniversary would be the same as last years! However, how wrong was I. Upon entering we were warmly greeted and in such rustic/cosy surroundings I knew my hubby had made the right choice! Shown to our room - in the new extension. Wow! lovely suite, leather/mirrors/ and... More

This is a lovely pub with everything you could need - good beer, rooms of the highest quality and a warm welcome. The highlight was the restaurant. I had the Egyptian aubergine, courgette and pepper stew which was one of the best veggie meals I have eaten and Lynne loved the lamb tagine.

The first evening meal was excellent, half a duck, but the portions were too big for our appetites so we ordered more carefully the following night. The staff... More

This was our 2nd stay at the wyvill. Brought my elderly mum so stayed in family room with 2 comfortable double beds. The room was large with good facilities. Both room and bathroom were clean and bright. No noise despite being above the pub. All the staff are really friendly, mum even got a bag of granola to come home... More

We stayed here just after Christmas first time and had a a great stay. So glad we've been back in August and hope to go again before Christmas. We had a different room but equally as good as before with everything you would expect and need. The Wyvill is very dog friendly and our dog loves it as she even... More

What a lovely hotel! A great welcome to a luxurious comfortable ground floor room with a secluded patio. Lovely local food. The shower in the room was really great. Our dog was also made welcome and was very happy.
