Petra Family Guest House is a perfect place for families and groups to enjoy, rest and relax. We provide ample car parking (within the premises) and our property is electric fenced to protect you from wild animals at night. We provide clean rooms with fresh linens and comfortable bedding. Our rooms have large, sound proof windows and semi-open balcony for undisrupted view of the natural beauty around. Our bathrooms are spacious and clean providing you with clean towels and basic toilet amenities. We have a Chef and food can be ordered from the menu card provided. Our food is tasty, affordable, home-style cooking and we maintain high quality standards in cleanliness. We provide basic internet facilities, laundry, ironing and car wash services for a small surcharge. We can assist with travel, sightseeing and airport/station pick-up and drop. Please note: We strictly DO NOT allow any consumption of Alcohol or alcoholic beverages within our rooms and premises. Our entire property is a 'No Smoking' zone. At the moment we accept only cash and card payment. Only Vodafone and BSNL mobile network works in these areas so please be aware of it. GST 12% on room tariff and GST 5% on food and beverages are applicable. Check in time is 2:00 pm and check out time is 11:00 am. A room is considered "booked" only if we receive the full room tariff in advance.

Best value guesthouse in Valparai. Polite and helpful staff. An excellent cook!! He obliged to our requests and cooked us some delicious homely meals. Highly recommended for a peaceful vacation amidst nature. Proximity to Sholaiyar dam is a bonus. Only con is our cottage didn't have any cupboards or shelves for storage. Hope it will get resolved in future. Special thanks to Ms. Evangeline for coordinating with me and enabling us to enjoy a wonderful holiday.

We stayed there for 3 days. The location is serene. The stay was so wonderful. The rooms very clean and tidy and exceptional. Finally the staff was amazing. They were so friendly and made us feel at home. The cook is exceptional. He made us excellent quality food and always did that with a smile. Great place to stay and highly family friendly.

We, a family of 4 from Bengaluru, stayed at Petra Family Guest House for 4 nights. Right from the time of booking (via phone call) to Mr. Josaiah (Manager) calling the day before our trip enquiring about our travel & needs to our actual stay - everything was very smooth & pleasant! The place is a heaven for nature & bird lovers - the garden with flowering trees/plants attract lots of chirping birds - such as Red Whiskered Bulbuls (most vocal & populous), Chestnut-headed Bee-eaters, Oriental White-eyes, Common Ioras, Sunbirds, Spotted Doves, Woodpeckers, Peafowls & last-but-not-the-least the melodious Malabar Whistling Thrushes! Then there are Nilgiri Langurs, Barking Deers, Sambar Deers one can spot around the property! The staff members - everyone from the folks who help you with your luggage & serving food (sorry, I don't recall their names), chef Rajendran and the Manager Mr. Josaiah - are very courteous and helpful. They always enquire about your needs and take complete care of you! One example is - Mr. Josaiah thoughtfully suggested that we carry packed lunch the day we visited Athirapally Falls as we (being vegetarians) would face challenges in getting pure-veg restaurants in Athirapally - then chef Rajendran prepared tasty tomato rice bath for us that we carried & that really helped us! Kudos to these great staff members for customer service orientation! The property is well maintained - the rooms are clean with fresh towels & bed sheets; the bathroom with geyser helps you in soothing hot water bath! The food cooked by chef Rajendran was tasty - we enjoyed the breakfasts, evening snacks & dinners! We also enjoyed the walks to Sholayar Dam & walk up the hill to couple of estate bungalows. Petra Family Guest house is a wonderful place to stay away from polluted environment. Well maintained rooms with friendly staffs. TV and WIFI were accessible without any problems. Jio and BSNL networks are within range in this guest house. We stayed for 2 nights and the food they provided was yummy. Whatever we order, they will serve it for us ( based on availability only). They won't store any items, based on our order they will buy from the shop fresh and they will prepare it. Overall nice hospitality provided.
